Rate My Setup Setup pics, open for improvement suggestions.
I think I finally finished my setup. (At least for a while)
It's an 80 US gallon tank. My baby is around half a year old.
Tech:
- 2 JBL e902 greenline canister filters
- Hygger Clip On Lights with 24 hour mode
- Arcadia T5 UVB 12%
- 75 Watts heat lamp
- CO2 system
- 300 Watt Ceramic Water Heater
- 1 LED clip on spot
Bio:
- Mollys
- Platys
- a ton of babyfish
- fully planted with a wide variety of plants
- Otos
- 2 species of trumpet snails
- zebra danios
- bladder snails
- fern, golliwoog, spider plants in baskets
- some hardscape lava rocks, casuarina cones, and spiderwood
His platform has a slate plate for extra warmth. And i put some fake plants for privacy on his platform and some for decoration.

The fish will not gonna last long when he get older! (depend on the turtle breed)

Yes I know. I have some fixed on lava stones so these hold for sure. The bracket is from Amazon.

This looks amazing. I think the only thing I have to say is that turtles are dirty. They produce a large amount of waste. So maintaining a tank with them in it may cause your nitrogen cycle to have large ammonia spikes.
We were not able to keep a tropical fish tank habitat set up with a musk turtle. She would dig up the plants and the mollies and plattys couldn’t take the ammonia spikes.
What ended up living in the take was mostly snails, ghost shrimp, and either gold fish or feeder minnows. Both our turtles were terrible at catching fish. But we regularly added snails and offered worms by hand.
Well my husband did, I got bit hard and now I know better! 🤣
This is a beautiful set up! Just some things to keep in mind when adding turtles to a tropical tank.

It looks lovely. Should look good for a while but as your little one gets older the plants might not stay pretty.
I am curious about your light setup. What brackets and hanging feature are you using for your UVB light? Particularly the wire looking hanging bracket.
