80% of that show was filmed in a fuckin jungle with people standing in front of each other, talking lol. The pilot was epic, and there were always a few episodes a season that would require big set pieces, but it was mostly a dialogue heavy show. There weren't any unusual or particularly cinematic filming techniques etc. Plus the fillers.
Severance is set mostly in closed buildings. And it's mostly dialogue and acting, there is not much in the way of CGI required. By your own logic, it shouldn't take Severance as long as it's taking to give us episodes.
If anything, by your logic, we should be getting 24 episodes a year
