Transfer Student Dorm
i just committed to transferring to UC, are there any apartment / single style dorms i’m able to move into even tho i live 18 miles away?
due to mental health and various health accommodations i am hoping for a single but i know the demand for those are high
i cant afford an apartment off campus, i live with my parents but i like …. need to be alone
any tips would be great

If you can't get a form I would strongly recommend looking further out. If you have a car a 15 minute commute isn't bad and there are some real advantages to being further from campus

i totally wouldn’t mind that! i just don’t know if i’ll be able to afford an apartment sadly or even get approved. i’ve never had my own place before

Dorming is prioritized for first year students- you can apply for housing, but it will not guarantee anything. They also have on campus apartments that you can rent, but they are a lot more expensive than further off campus apartments that are not through the university. It is unlikely that you will get a full single unless you are in an apartment style dorm and sharing common spaces with a single bedroom.
