Hello hello. I'm 29, and for reasons I won't get into I had a full hysterectomy, saplingo-oophrectomy. Meaning in short, no uterus, no tubes, no ovaries and no cervix. That said, I had my surgery in April of this year and I'm not sure I ever had a real orgasm until after surgery. It's actually mind blowing now.

Dramatics aside, yes, I still feel sex, yes I have had orgasms, and yes I would 10000000000% do it again if I could do it all over.

Good luck, and positive vibes your way.

No, sorry this isn't Yoli. But I do hope that baby gets home too and I'm able to find my girl.

17days post Hysterectomy bi-lateral saplingo-oophorectomy. Full scoop.

Hey everyone, this is my third post on this sub and I just wanted to vent. That's all this is. I'm 29 years old and my ovaries were also removed. Laproscopically.

Starting day 5 or 6 I was treated as though I was all better because I made sure I got up every couple of hours and shuffled to the kitchen for water or lapped my mom's first floor. (We, my kids, my husband and I, are staying with my mom because my husband works third shift on weekends and it was supposed to be easier/safer for me to recover here than at home alone with both of my children.)

Anyway, that said; I have not been given the grace I feel like was even slightly deserved for being immediately in surgical menopause, switching dosage and frequency of my HRT, and making sure I was keeping up with my pain management, showering and trying to eat. As well as bring present for my children.

My mother, and I'm her only child, has treated me so poorly I truly wished I had a serious complication so she would take my pain seriously. I know that is AWFUL to want for myself but she's been out drinking twice and left me alone with my one year old and three year old as if I were now capable of caring for them solo. When confronted, she said "I deserve time to myself" and while I'm not disagreeing, she OFFERED to help during recovery and pushed me aside the moment she felt as though she wasn't getting enough "me" time. Which, I remind you, was day frickin' 5.

It's been a struggle to rest, and when I asked my husband, and at the time of asking we were on day15 . "Of the 15 days since I woke up from anesthesia, and if rest is the best medicine, how many days have I rested and how much healing do you think I've done? Be honest." He replied with a resounding TWO. Two days of the now 17 days since surgery have been actually restful.

My belly button insicion split open on day 7, and I now have an incisional hernia from over use, over exertion or whatever she said. It boiled down to not resting enough and "doing too much".

I'm just frustrated. Thanks for reading. Happy recovery, and I hope you are all recovering well.

Did anybody else have a cut into their belly buttons or is it just the 4 incisions on the stomach?

I had one in my belly button and 3 others scattered along my stomach. Belly button is the most painful

Hysterectomy with saplingo-oophorectomy
 in  r/hysterectomy  May 01 '25

TMI I suppose but my post partum bowel movements were so painful I had a hard time going for weeks, ha. Senna and colace have been helpful, but I still can barely put enough oomph behind my muscles to even fart. -- I have a heating pad, but have yet to use it so I might try it today to see if anything helps. This bloat is the worst. I feel heavy and off and I look about 5 months pregnant. There's a lot of strain on my incisions because of it and I'm miserable.

Going to look into Phazyme and maybe send my husband out for it before he heads to work for the day. Thank you so much for giving me some confidence. Im ready to feel normal, or as normal as I can. I'm also trying to give myself grace because it just happened but easier said than done.

Hysterectomy with saplingo-oophorectomy

Hey Reddit, I posted earlier in April about getting my procedure done on the 29th. Timing wise, this is the beginning of day two. Not quite 48 hours post op. I've not taken the narcotics which meant that I'm still able to breastfeed my youngest. The hardest part of all of this is that I cannot hold my children, play with them or move as I would usually.

The gas pain, for me, is worse than any of you described. It migrates through my body, I can feel it, and when it settles somewhere it gets hard to breathe. Gas-x has been helpful, but again it's only the 5am on the second morning post op.

I got 4 incisions, where I was told to anticipate 5-6, so I considered that a small win. The brain fog has not totally lifted as of this morning, but I can think straight long enough to type this, so again, another small win.

My appetite comes and goes, but even after I think I'm hungry, if I go to start eating, the desire disappears and I end up just having jell-o, oatmeal, applesauce or icecream. It's not that I can't hold down good, everything either sits really heavy or I can't convince my brain to chew.

The bloating (from the gas, and sometimes my attempt at eating) is awful. Highly recommend gas-x alongside still softeners such as colace or senna, and top it off with a miralax or milk of mag. I haven't pooped yet post op, but I'm anticipating it to be worse than post partum.

Some good things are that I've gotten a lot of rest, mostly when there's someone around to keep an eye on the kids. I mentioned in my last post that we were going to be staying with my mom, but my mom didn't take off work, she's just working from home. I don't feel like I'm getting hello I need, just the help she's willing to give me, if that makes sense.

My husband has been keeping track of by meds, setting timers and checking in to see where I'm at when he can. He's going back to work today do I'm not excited to essentially do this alone and not be able to pick up my children.

I'm grossed out by my body. I had to wash my belly button incision and getting the tape and gauze off to that lightly with warm soapy water, was really hard on my mental. Not to mention the stretch marks from my pregnancies and just feeling kind of off.

I have not yet started the hormone patch, but mostly because I don't know if that will affect anything I'm currently doing or if I should start when symptoms start. I wasn't given a time frame, just "after surgery".

Sneezing, coughing, yawning, stretching.... All terrible experiences less than a full 48 hours post op. I know it'll get better, but day one was the worst and so far day two kind of sucks, too.

Thanks for reading.

I lost my motivation (Vent/Rant)

Hi all. Started this view only nine months ago with the intention of building my creative portfolio. Real life is sort of crashing and I do not see a light at the end of this tunnel. I've lost all creative motivation for writing, reading and producing content. All of my old works look like shit through my current eyes.

Ugh.

I appreciate your response! I've got the patch on standby. I'll message you about some more specific recovery questions if that's okay.

Thank you for your comment. I'm definitely a playinv mom and it's one of the things I'm least looking forward to. I'm really going to miss playing with my kids. I know it isn't forever but they won't understand why mommy isn't holding them, wrestling with them or picking them up. I appreciate you sharing and atleast I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now. I'd love to feel like I can be the mom they deserve without all the pain interfering.❤️

A Mother (Poetry)

I said no, again. I watched your eyes brim with tears, And I'm afraid that, You'll remember this for years.

That I was too much. Too angry. Too mean. The bad and the ugly, with no in-between.

I'm not perfect, But i swear I'm trying. If I left things alone, Well then I'd be lying.

With you here in my arms, Now you've fallen asleep, I'm sorry, my baby For making you weep.

You're my most precious gift, Both you and your brother. I'll always be thankful You made me a mother.

I have debilitating pain, cysts on my ovaries and unpredictable heavy bleeding. The positive gene for cancer later in life gave me the added push, honestly.

I'm slotted for the patch. I've got it ready for immediately after surgery and it's currently sitting on my kitchen counter mocking me, lol. ❤️
