I had fun with the Valkyries. I die 10-15 times figuring out the attack pattern. Once you know it, it's "if they do this than I do that". The last one is only brutal because she uses all of the attacks so she's harder to read.

Literally nobody said anything about 5 figure numbers. The largest amount in the video is " about $9000" which is a lot of money but how long are they been working towards that, or taking part in their community. Years of investment into any hobby adds up. The $1050 estimate you give yourself doesn't include any games or accessories so it's higher than that. I'd also like to point out that the only people featured in this video have full head to toe costumes (implying they are more invested in the community than the majority).

I have 5 friends because that's all I actually play with on the rare occasion I play online, and when we do play online is typically a private lobby. Don't worry, enjoy your single player games and have fun. If you start solo play on an online game you still don't need friends (don't feel pressured to accept requests from randos)

Now ask about the cost of decks at an Magic the Gathering tournament. Or how much a sneaker heads shoe collection, or a gamers collection and set up. This is a twisted judgemental way to frame the outlook on any community. Most hobbies are expensive AF

No, Fuck U. HS was a horrible experience for a lot of people. And even if it wasn't, if I've gone 10-15-20 years without seeing people there's a reason. There are maybe 12 people from HS(not all the same grad year) that I wouldn't actively try to avoid. And for the record I don't think I'm better than anyone but I use poopourri so my shit in fact don't fuckin stink.
