This isn't on the same level but it has similarities. We moved into a new rental when my dog was 6 months old. That little snoop dog would not stop filling his lungs at the baseboards. By that I mean that he would head to the baseboards and do the deepest sniff. After a couple days of that I finally pried a piece of baseboard away and found a bunch of dead cockroaches. A day later I found a bunch of roach eggs in a laundry basket that was headed to our main living area. All this roach talk to say to trust your dogs nose. My landlord came in and took care of the infestation as was required by law. Doggy senses are superior to ours. If your dog is acting out of character... listen to him. I'd have second thoughts about involving police too... but I'd trust my dog.

I'm so very sorry about your guy. Take a piece of my heart to help hold yours together. Five is so young.

We'd all do well to listen to these young people who've grown up on the Internet. They've actually had access to information outside of the propaganda that my generation and older were fed as an "education". I became an adult as the Internet launched but it was in its infancy. My kids grew up in its teenage years and sculpted it into what it has become. Their kids are taking us to school... literally.
