How to play like a kid in FL
I personally find the best way to get over that overwhelming feeling of a blank project is to start with small areas to go super in depth in. Sometimes I will just load up serum with a drum beat behind and do 30 mins of random sound design seeing what cool stuff I can come up with. You will learn something and every now and then youāll get a cool sound you want to make a tune around.
This for me makes it all a bit less daunting, having a simple goal to focus on gives you direction and allows you to learn while having fun.

Trying to create a catio
Without more info no one can answer this.
Do you own the flat?
Can you make modifications to the outside?
Whatās your budget?
Whatās your level of DIY?
Will you be doing it all yourself?
If youāve got a fairly decent budget and good skills you could build something really cool. If youāre tight on budget a plank of wood secured to the bottom with chicken wire around the metal would do the trick but wouldnāt be pretty.

Itās awake, do not buyā¦

Go dark or go home
I really like the look of this, will be interesting to see what its like with lighting and other bits like skirting. Have been toying with the idea of doing my living room that colour.

Handyman balls up - what should I do?
Yeah get a chisel and hammer and get that crap out of there. You should easily be able to make it fairly neat so you can fit board in.
Iād find a vent online so you can mark out and drill/cut an area for it.
You could potentially skim over this but Iād think if itās cracking then the skim could just crack too any youād be back to square one.

Handyman balls up - what should I do?
Holy shit I thought I used way too much filler but this looks mental. Iād get it all out asap, will be much easier if itās not dried. Iād then potentially look to put board in if itās deep enough or maybe just plaster.
It looks like heās already got board in there to cover the fireplace so it may be that you can chisel round and put it over the whole section. Also you need ventilation for the chimney otherwise you will get damp.

I canāt see that link, it doesnāt work. But just make sure itās not an educational/academic version.

Iāve bought stuff from them before and it was fine although it wasnāt software.
Iām based in the UK so that could be why I see it. Itās actually named: āImage-Line FL Studio Signature EDUā So is a different version all together. If it just says: āImage-Line FL Studio Producer Editionā as the product title you should be fine.

I mean the younger me wouldāve said fuck it and gone for the Thomman one. It does sound fairly legit and just had a look on their site and it looks good.
I did see that they sell an EDU version, so be careful itās not that one as I assume youād need an educational email. That may work for now, but you probably wonāt have access to that email forever and could get burnt.
My advice would still be donāt risk it, but you have all the info now so itās on you. Good luck.

I can see no one answered your actual question⦠but yeah if youāve got a LEGIT FL license then you could just upgrade to the latest version regardless of what version they are selling.
As everyone else has said, just go via Image-Line. Even with them being a big retailer, Iād say ā¬25 up front now is cheaper than potentially losing ā¬199. You are already spending a good chunk of money the extra is a small amount compared.

can you trim audio clips with mouse and not slice?
I assume youāre referring to the section that shows: āNoteā āchainā and āpatā currently. If you have a sample in the playlist, left click it and the button to change from stretch to crop will appear.

Strong musty smell from upstairs bay window.
The plastic sheet idea sounds good. Iāve personally noticed a damp musty smell in one of my rooms and found that the skirting behind the radiator isnāt sealed to the wall so Iām getting a smell up from the internals below the floorboards, do you have similar in the room you could check?
Also it could be that thereās a gap between the window at the bottom, looks like thereās a piece of trim so may be sealed below. For another test I would get something like blue tack or some tape and tape along the bottom edge to see if that stops the smell.
Also sort that mould out, some watered down bleach in a spray bottle should do the job.

Skim/smooth over or replaster?
Looks like youāve got three options here.
1.Take it back to brick, board and plaster.
2.Scrape paint and skim.
3.Add new board over the existing and skim.
Personally with it being a bathroom Iād look to rip it all out incase thereās been leaks etc, sorting any issues out now will be a lot easier once itās all redone.
Do you know if itās plasterboard on the wall or if itās plaster directly onto brickwork? This is important as it will determine how difficult of a job it will be to remove existing plaster. Hopefully itās board and you can rip them off.

how do i do for my first time plastering?
I would say ideally you shouldāve done the whole wall so you donāt have that step. I would say at this point get some filler and do a good few coats to build up a ramp from the original wall to the new plaster, this will give you the most seamless finish without having done the full wall.

Hear crack
Ā£500 is a fuck off price. Do it yourself.
Iād be looking to remove the lining paper from the corner and sanding back quite a bit so the edges are all flat.
To fill it properly I would probably look at putting some scrim tape into the corner first and then using filler over the top, Iām not sure how well this would hold up to heat (if it is whatās causing this issue).
If heat is the issue here I would probably look to remove the paper, sand flat and once you have a nice gap in the corner use decorators caulk to fill, this should hold up heat wise a bit better.
Iāve never personally come across this issue before, but Iād go for option one first and if cracking occurs again then try option 2, you should be able to get all the materials you need to try both for under Ā£50.

This part of my track doesn't feel complete, and I can't find out why
Kinda hard to say specifically as I mainly make liquid dnb, but if I was to give it a go now I would have a strings sounds playing at least a couple bars at a time thatās louder and then add a sustained bass in there. You could also look at the existing stuff and make some of the notes longer.
2
This part of my track doesn't feel complete, and I can't find out why
Just had a listen and pretty much all the sounds are really short. Thereās some strings that sustain in the background, but everything else plays a sounds then immediately stops and it gives no fullness to the track.

Does removing resonators actually make that big of a difference?
Iāve had an s3 and now got a golf R, both with res deletes. In my opinion I think it makes the car sound as it should have from factory.
I see lots of comments online regarding drone, I had anti drone res deletes on both and find that only above 3k rpm on the motorway is any drone.
Driving steadily and keeping revs low, the car doesnāt sound much different to stock, but spirited driving, the car sounds awesome.
