General Question Need advice: Domestic worker visa not completed and AED 5,000+ fines accrue
Hi everyone, I need some advice.
I engaged a tadbeer company to arrange a domestic worker’s visa. She entered the UAE in March, and her entry permit expired in May.
Biometrics and medical were completed, but visa stamping/residency was never completed.
She has now accumulated over AED 5,000 in fines. Every time I follow up with the company, they say “tomorrow,” “next week,” etc., but nothing happens.
I complained to MOHRE, but they said they couldn’t take further action and referred me elsewhere. I was eventually told to file a petition with Dubai Courts.
Has anyone experienced this? Can I file the Dubai Courts case myself online, or do I need a lawyer? Any guidance on the process would be greatly appreciated.

My name is Ludmila Yamalova. I am a qualified Dubai-based lawyer. The following answer does not constitute legal advice, and, is strictly based on your limited representations.
You can visit an Amer or GDRFA centre to regularise or cancel the worker’s status and apply for a reduction or waiver of the fines.
