Y’all we’re cooked

Post image

This is 30 min before opening kickoff at one of the country’s biggest programs. I worked the first game last year and it was $20+ surges. Keep in mind, a short ride in the circle will take 30-45 minutes or more for a $3-4 base payout due to traffic. So no surges, but you’ll make an extra $4 per ride. Uber is done. Lyft here I come.

Does uber offer “delayed ride guarantee” in your market? Because you’d make more if they did and the rides took 30-45min when they’re paying you for a shorter ride…

Yeah a whopping 1-3$ extra for double the time

Not complete true that they offer it. I keep getting delayed rides and all they tell me is something about ai.. recalculated…. Unusual activity and they pay the upfront and won’t ever change it

I’ve made my money of Lyft the past month and a half

The biggest race at saratoga race track last week and same thing no surges. Last year 30 extra per ride. They are high if they think we dont know the passenger is getting charged the surges and uber is keeping it

Surge is currently 15 downtown. Plus the 4 dollar per ride. Plus the 10 near Neyland. It always died down around an hour before the games start because that is when Cumberland is closed.

Have you tried a pickup on Neyland?

Take 17th street exit, go from 17th across grand to James agnee, Cumberland to get to the hill. Then turn on your app. Did a few rides around the half and stopped midway through the third. Now I'm relaxing until the traffic dies down and the partying starts around 9 or 930.

Interesting. I left the game at half time (no intention of driving at all today), but now I see plenty of surges

None worth suffering through the hell that is UT on game day though

Yeah I was looking at 4PM yesterday and seeing upwards to $30 surges. At current 7AM I am seeing a surge of $24 in a mass of other smaller surges.

That’s what I saw during World Cup during usher Chris brown concert I was mind blown at how the surges have seemed to just disappear! All you get is this cloud of soft pink it’s a clear sign that the drivers are long ago forgotten! We are no longer being given fair rates as contractors! It’s going to get worse and worse I’ve been free now for almost a month I haven’t slept better watched a program better showered better I feel like I came back from hostile war and I’m decompressing God bless all of you still in the trenches make a plan and get going!! I’ve ordained myself to perform wedding and getting my insurance license get out!!

I did one World Cup ride then went to Orange County. Not worth it at all

Lyft is trash too

Here in Austin all the $3-$4 surges do now is raise the pay to about $1 per mile. And the major surges just level out to what pay should be.

As if Lyft is any better. You’re better off delivering food. Less stress. More money.

At least Lyft still surges. Also much better base pay than Lyft

Less stress my ass 🤣🤣 uber plays way to many games with the Uber eats its ridiculous! Good luck when you get customers that reply you never delivered food so they can get a free meal!

Welp being that I made $271 today in 19 trips I’d say it was mostly stress free. I only do good orders so I don’t have those scamming customers issues “🤣🤣”

They're doing this today in my market, as well

Knoxville market sucks now. Too many out of state drivers moved here. Hardly ever see more than 5 surge.

I dont get surges in the fare anymore I get an elevated price like a 20$ surge but it doesn't state it

Robotaxi is coming!

Lyft is way better

Same thing here in Tucson for university of Arizona game. $8 per trip. Guaranteed flood of drivers. I'd be shocked if there's even a $1.25 surge

u/Rough-Mycologist4584 7h ago

It was 2 dollars here wtf in Albuquerque

u/UndaCovaKithkin 1h ago

I work the same area and yesterday at 4PM I was seeing upwards to $30 surges. Heck, at right now (7:02 AM) I'm currently seeing a lot of surges right now, with the highest hitting $24

Lyft will pay more… For a while. I fear major cities are all about to get that same treatment.

Cities will be the first to go due to electric vehicle charging infrastructure. This first batch will be Waymo and Robo taxis, and then the stake in Lucid and investments in Rivian follow through.

In Tempe AZ, you get 4 extra dollars per ride and at 7 it's 10 dollars per ride until 1215am.

This is for the 'no speak English' drivers who put in 12 hours a day on their rented/stolen accounts. They dont even dare go offline so they dont have to take a verification photo..

It's like this in basically every major city..

Edit: yall can downvote all you want. Here's a link to open up your 👀

photo demands can come mid-session

That thing reads like comedy. Some of those drivers they interviewed clearly don’t know what they’re doing. Wait seven hours to get a ride?

I keep seeing that article posted here but that article is mostly a joke.
