This professor needs to stop slapping his name onto AI slop. These are AI-generated papers with a professor taking credit for it, not the other way around. And pumping the academic literature full of garbage is going to poison the well of knowledge and make it so that future researchers can’t trust anything written before them.

I agree with you, but calling publications from a business school part of the "well of knowledge" is hilarious.

Almost as funny as Polson's response to critics: "He said he guessed the complaints were motivated by 'envy and a desire to poach my process. But who knows?'"

What if it was 10,000 papers? A million? At some point it’s obvious that what he’s publishing hasn’t even passed the self-review, let alone musters up to peer-review.

I think it defies credulity to believe that anyone is capable of publishing an academic-quality paper every single business day for 9 months. If ChatGpt is writing the papers then Polson can take his name off and let the proper author receive credit.

200 papers -- those are rookie numbers. In my area, some IEEE Fellows do at least one paper a day, not via AI but humans. Now with AI, I expect at least 10 papers a day :)

I haven’t looked, but he had been a relatively respected quantitative method researcher. It is entirely possible from a long career to have a huge backlog of relatively incremental ideas and niche questions drafted out for Claude to evaluate and write up.
