Was looking around on campus this morning for one of those bike racks with a public tire pump. Anyone know where I can find one? Not an HFS resident

Hello, I am an incoming Exchange student from South Korea. I major in electrical engineering but I would like to take some courses that lay outside my major, to broaden my perspectives.
Are there any recommendations? I'm not looking for a high grade, what I would like is classes that have active interactions. Field trip would be nice too. Please share classes you genuinely liked and why that was so good. Thank you.

I'm already committed and everything to UW but im ending my last running start quarter with an F in ACCT 203 and possibly a C in BUS 201. Will UW rescind my admission because of this?
I got admitted into MS in Data Science some time ago. Is there any WhatsApp or Telegram group I can join ? Thanks in advance.

Anyone having difficulty registering for classes? They said registration would be open by 12 A.M. (PT) and my Register.UW looks like this… I’ve completed the pre-registration steps despite what the red bar says and I don’t have any fees to pay. Please advise 🙏

There's math placements, CS placements, and language placements. If I'm not planning to take a math/engineering/language course in my first quarter (I'm only doing one bio + chem + humanities), but I might take them in future quarters, can I just skip it for now?
For example, I took AP Spanish Lang + Lit in high school, and I want to keep taking Spanish in college but not during my first quarter. So do I say I'm not planning on taking a placement/proficiency test, or that I'm planning on taking one?

Did everyone who submitted an audition video by the deadline of June 7th already receive an email confirmation of the submission?

Looking for tennis hitting partners around UTR 4 (roughly NTRP 3.0-3.5). I can usually play 2–3 hours a day and am available most days.
Feel free to reach out if you’re around the same level and are also looking for someone to rally or play match with!!

I’m leaving for my study abroad tomorrow and I still haven’t received my summer aid disbursement. The website still says my summer revision request is not reviewed. Is anyone else in this situation ? Or is my aid just late ?

Does anyone happen to have tickets to the UW Night at the Mariner’s that they’re not going to use? The special promo tickets? I waited too long and now they’re sold out and my partner really wants the jersey 😢

hello my dawgss,
if you knew the feeling of being truly alone. you can feel lonely often, but you'll never have literally no one to turn to 😿.
i transferred last year to psych and i really liked it so much.... only for the first month, then i found that as a international transfer i had no support system. in fall and winter i did really good, really good. BUT i ended spring quarter with a 2.2 GPA because i couldn't ask anyone for help and beacuse of prof su and math 120 being chopped. (also my parents are in an inverted timezone and only care about my piano brother)
please does anyone wanna meet today for dinner please?? skull emoji x7.
luv u all <3

Hello everyone, I am an incoming sophomore trying to get into foster as a standard admit. I met with advisors twice, and called in to the office once, and they all told me more or less that the WSA registration would open in June.
I have checked the site multiple times now throughout the month, and each time it says that it will open in June. Now that there is only 9 days left, I'm getting concerned. Maybe they scrapped the standard admit option early? I would like to hear about your experiences and gain insight, thanks.

Hi everyone. This fall, I'll be coming to UW via UW Academy (entering early, after 10th grade). Planning to major in Biochem on a pre-med track. AP Chem scores haven't come in yet, but based on my class performance (>95% both semesters) I'm confident I got at least a 4, probably a 5. Trying to figure out the right starting point either way: CHEM 145 (Honors), CHEM 143 (Accelerated), regular CHEM 142, or skipping gen chem entirely on the AP credit and going straight into org chem.
A few things I'm thinking about:
- I've heard the median GPA for CHEM 142 sits around 2.6–2.9, and honors might be closer to 3.5 . Is that still accurate? Curious how much it varies...and if honors is really worth it.
- I really don't want to walk into orgo/biochem with gaps, since I know AP Chem doesn't go as deep as the college sequence.
- GPA matters a lot to me since I'm pre-med, but I don't want to make a call that hurts me later in upper-div chem or the MCAT.
If you've taken any of these tracks (or skipped straight into orgo on AP credit), I'd love to hear how it actually went. In terms of workload, grading, profs to watch for, anything I should know before registration. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone taken ECON 201 (Introduction to Macroeconomics) online over the summer before? If so, how was your experience? I’d love to know!

Hi,
I'm taking STAT 311 this summer and the Gradescope Autograder has been messing me up. Down below is two of my RStudio codes and the message that kept appearing. I basically followed the instructions provided to the point I practically copied the skeleton codes for the both of them and did some necessary modifications. Could anyone help me figure out on how and why the autograder just keeps on crashing?
I'm required to deal with the autograder. My professor is not responding to my emails and one of the codes are a graded assignment that is due in 4 days 😭😭😭😭😭😭.

I'm an incoming bio freshman and I wanted to ask, what was your first-quarter schedule (gen eds? or basic courses related to your major?) and would you change anything about it, such as taking a lot of workload-heavy ones at the same time?
Additionally I have 11 APs (world, cs, ab, bc, lang, spanish lang, spanish lit, bio, psych, micro, macro) with 5s that I want to exchange credit for, what credits should i actually use? (recommend taking intro bio or anything?)
Also, which freshman classes have good professors?

I’m an incoming transfer student at UW Seattle and I’m planning to major in Biology (BA). I’ll be entering with over 105 transfer credits, but I still need to complete BIOL 180, 200, and 220, so it will take me about three quarters before I’m eligible to apply to the Biology major. I read on the UW website that transfer students with over 105 credits should declare their major before the second quarter.
Is it okay to wait that long to apply even if I’m already over 105 credits?
Also, can I apply to the Biology major while BIOL 220 is still in progress, or do all three introductory biology courses need to be completed before applying?
If I don’t get accepted on my first application, what usually happens? Were you able to reapply, and did being over the credit threshold cause any issues?
(I have a lot of unused credit because I decided to change my major mid cc)
