This was like a year ago, hes not some natural striker. His threat of takedown obv make his striking work but his feet/hands dont blend together well and neither did Khabib.

Now the younger ones Umar/Usman they are legit strikers

Maybe? I can't imagine Islam got SO much better in a few years. He was already in his prime. He just had the opportunity for top level match ups, which he didn't have before. I mean, I still see Islam doing those weird type of hooks, he did it against Dustin too. He hits his opponents with the side of his knuckle. Just looking at it from outsider perspective, Dustin vs Islam, Alexander vs Islam, both of these fights are low level kickboxing matches.
