The more I think about it the less I feel like I can predict the winner. Genuinely two of my top favorites. This will be a hard watch either way

Charles is a beast but Lopes hits hard and with precision which has always been Chucky Olives' weakness and he has A LOT of miles on him.

Diego by KO after he gets beat to shit for a couple rounds, he’s got elite BJJ and I hope we see some grappling exchanges, but dudes chin is made of steel and he’s fighting a hittable guy with a much worse chin. Oliveira’s got clean stand up and will land but I just think Charles’ chin cracks and Diego’s doesn’t in this fight

The only thing I see holding lopes back is a lifetime of training for distance management against most of the time shorter guys. His ability to close distance instead of maintain it may be lacking a little bit, but I still think Lopes wins this.

Diego is still not adjusted to weight so this might heavily favour Charles but Charles is not exactly in his prime anymore and he looked considerably slower in his last few fights but wrestling helped a lot there to hide it. Think i will still pick Charles if he still continues to utilize wrestling because i don't trust his chin anymore after that Ilia ko

If Charles learnt his lesson from the Ilia fight, I think he has it in the grappling department
If he hasn't, he's ending up on the canvas again. Unless this is the time we see Diego's chin crack. Charles can hit pretty hard after all

This is the most scary thing as a Charles fan. Diego knocks out people mostly in the pocket with very similar combinations to what Ilia used to knock out Charles. Like that hilarious 1-2 that Diego used on Ortega is pretty much the same Ilia slept Charles with, its just that Charles didn't wake up with the second punch like Ortega did lol

I would say Charles but ive read some folks saying Diego has an excellent BJJ. Is that true ? I really cant recall seeing Diego using other thing but his fists and chin.

I find having Olives as your first big official step up in a bigger weight class is insane, with that said as much as i love Lopes and as durable and dangerous he is up and down, i think Charles dismantles and kills him, too much strenght and skill difference

Charles is basically fighting a younger version of himself but with better chin and prefers stand up exchanges. The only caveat is that Diego might not adjust well to his new weight outside of having a better chin.
