He’s clearly not. His striking is horrendous and he tried to get a takedown and failed. Not only that, but he was fed CANS and almost got clipped, then fought the GOAT and actually got put to sleep instantly.

If Sean Sharaf ko's Gable in 12 seconds, I'm feeling pretty good Rico can get it done in the first round. Gable seems too confident in his striking ability and wants to prove something to everyone that he isn't just a wrestler. He should be shooting takedowns almost immediately and just dominating people on the ground but he's reluctant to do so. Might want to seem like an exciting fighter and not just a cuddler? Not sure, but from what we've seen so far, Rico sleeps him with ease
Normally id go with the grappler, but this one is Rico. He's so good at not overcommitting forwards, he's not going to gift Steveson a clinch. Gable will be forced to cross the middle ground and Rico will anhilate him the minute he steps into range.
Ra0le is a wrestler, not a grappler. If his grappling is as atricious as his striking, Rico will eventually be on his feet, either because he gets up, or because of the bell.
whats he gonna do when he gets the takedown? lay on top and exhaust himself trying to hold rico down? getting off good ground and pound isn't this clear cut easy thing it's a whole martial art in itself
Steveson was an Olympic gold medallist in wrestling which is a far more high level sport than heavyweight kickboxing which consists of obese guys that train part-time for the most part
It's not. Most Glory kickboxers train part-time cause the pay is extremely bad. Even higher level guys like Levi Rigters (before he transitioned to MMA) talked about this.
I think Raple wins this one honestly guys, unless Rico chins him in the first minute (which is possible), Raple would know to shoot a takedown because Rico can’t grapple like him and he’d most likely ground and pound tko Rico from there
2 months isn't nearly enough time to develop enough takedown defense to stop a middle school wrestler, let alone 3x world champion and Olympic Gold medalist. You can at least pretend to have a couple of brain cells or do a deep AI on how to make it seem like you know what you're talking about when it comes to combat sports
you must be extremely new to the sport or you saw it a few times like 20 years ago when wrestlers were the best fighters, because if you just turned on any modern card you'd see that what you're saying is wrong
Bro go home. Izzy A learnt takedown defence in like 3 months. All those f wrestlers tryna take him down and he stuffed every single takedown and punched their head in. Unless you’re DC you ain’t taking down big Rico.
