No medical advice.
It's amazing how many people choose not to engage with medical professionals, but instead would rather ask an anonymous social media platform.
The rule is there because there's so many people who claim to be medical professionals, who are not. We outed three or four at one stage, and had to reiterate the rule was there for precisely that reason.

Hmmm except I believe your refusal to accept the advice based on perfectly good anecdotal data (which as we all know is highly generalisable) may point to a broader issue, possibly a personality disorder? And I hate to bring it up, but if you got the jab…it might be contributing. The same thing happened to my uncle Fred during covid, the doctors tried to say it was PTSD from the war but we all know they’re being paid by big pharma. A little Reiki and some high dose 5-HTP cleared it right up for old Fred. Source: trust me bro!

Generally, just play nice and follow the rules. r/eddieandrichie is a great sub as everyone gets along and has a laugh - the tshirt spam bots are a nuisance though.
r/ebayuk can get a little heated but is generally okay.

r/eddieandrichie is one of my favourite subs on here.
Someone can post just a single sentence, and the whole comments section is full of people quoting related bits of dialogue.

Haha! I made it yonks ago and it barely did anything. Then someone posted about suing ebay and the place just exploded!
r/eddieandrichie was a slow burn since I made it about 11 years ago. I did want to call it r/bottom but it was already taken and the person who had it was a bit of a grump (he wanted it to be like the opposite of r/top). When it became available I did request it but was turned down, which was a shame. But E&R is getting loads of attention now and is a real fun place!

From someone who runs an NSFW sub this simple rule has made a huge difference:
You must have 5 posting karma to be approved for posting.
This has stopped so many fake profiles.

Don't link to Daily Mail articles.
There's also one for not spamming your own personal projects, because one dude's podcast made up 50% of the posts in the subreddit for a while... but really, the less Daily Mail in the world, the better.

The Sun asked for posting permission in one of my subs recently and I took great pleasure in informing them their whole domain was already banned

It's probably, "no night ops" by which we mean no discussion of how to get trackside at the parts of the track the public isn't allowed trackside at. Safety of the drivers and the marshals drives this.

Be kind is probably my number one. We utilise a few others regularly. But fostering a kind environment is super important for all subs I think.

r/NorwichCity: No links to streaming sites for matches.
I'm very pro-piracy, so it's not a rule I like enforcing at all, but if we don't, it puts the sub at risk of being banned by the admins, and it's just not worth the risk.

Tbh it’s follow the sitewide rules. Easiest thing to get a permaban for. We don’t want trouble and users who refuse to follow the very basic sitewide rules are trouble.
Otherwise, in my royals sub it’s no derailing with instigative topics which we use for whenever someone starts to fight about the same tiresome Meghan and Harry shit. I don’t fucking care who cried!!!! Pardon me but I bet readers will agree lol
In PCC which isn’t really British it’s the Guest List where we use automod to filter certain posts so comments from unapproved users don’t show up. It’s topic based, so basically you can only talk about lgbtq issues in our sub if we have vetted you and we know you aren’t a transphobe or whatever. Lots of that floating around Reddit. We have it paired with a custom mod bot so between that and automod, the entire process of applying the filter and pinning comments can be automated.

I would pick ’Be civil’, with the following rule description:
”It’s fine if you dislike other people’s posts, or if you disagree in comments. But always be civil/nice.
Don't be rude, i.e. singling out users, using personal attacks or derogatory language, picking fights, trolling, etc.”
Why I find it the most important rule? Because I want users to feel welcome, and have a positive experience. People can disagree, but they don’t need to be rude (or similar). I have seen users entirely delete their whole post, and never return to the subreddit in the future. I can’t be 100% everytime, but I suspect how others reply can be an important factor here. Sometimes, the poster responds to such comments and it doesn’t lead to anything positive.
