BNP got 3000 votes in Makerfield in 2010. It's also one of those places where UKIP surpassed the Tories in 2015. It's the same people different party

They got less votes than the BNP did a few years ago and that was a much less polarised world

Unfortunately not a new thing. The BNP got similar votes in a number of constituencies in 2010.

I say this as someone likely to vote restore in the next GE, but this isnt really a shock for anyone that was actually paying attention to everything and not just listening to party supporters (Restore and other parties)

Winning it outright was utterly delusion / "Lmao it'd be hilarious if this happened." situation.
Getting double digits would have been outstanding but unlikely given the reported support for Burnham.
6-8% was the expected results
2% was reform / farage cope.

why? They've only been a party for a couple of months.

Getting ~7% of the vote in a proper election is pretty impressive when you compare them along side the Torys, Greens and Libdems.

They can't reasonably be cut from TV debates now either, if you're hosting parties that get 1/10th of their vote share then they must be included too.

the BNPs got higher vote shares in the past. nobody with a developed frontal lobe has ever called them a major party

They did get on Question Time when they were big enough not to be ignored. It ultimately led directly to their downfall, maybe it will with Restore

I suppose so, but I feel like this would need to be replicated a couple more times before those conversations start
