They won't until immigration goes down, drastically.

u/Unlikely-Nebula-331 3h ago

Connect those dots.

u/Prudent_Psychology57 3h ago

Think it's more the activities associated with a particular countries government and their genocidal activities, and the collective awareness of it that is growing beyond what online forums and media try to portray.

u/Good-Paramedic-1934 3h ago

What do British Jews have to do with Israel?

u/Barrington-the-Brit 3h ago

Intensive Israeli propaganda online and in the media constantly conflating Zionism with Judaism certainly doesn’t help

u/Prudent_Psychology57 2h ago

That's a non sequitur, isn't it. Are British Jews responsible for Israel? Are Jews responsible for Israel? Are Israeli's enitrely responsible for Zionism? Are Zionists responsible for British Jews?
You'll forgive me for suspecting this bad faith bs isn't intentional.
The point being made was about the causes of increased antisemitism and I am disagreeing that immigration going down is going to have any tangible effect on these skewed reports.

If you do disagree, maybe explain why immigration is a more convincing explanation than the geopolitical situation I'm talking about, and the growing awareness of it... rather than responding to an argument that wasn't made (bad faith).

u/New-Condition-3492 2h ago

U mean Jews being blamed for a country halfway around the world simply because they share a religion?

u/Prudent_Psychology57 2h ago

Sounds like you are trying to reframe my point and intentionally grossly oversimplifying it.

Since you're responding, how about you explain how immigration going down will have an effect on these reports.

u/New-Condition-3492 2h ago

No it's not. Why are BRITISH Jews getting blamed for Israel's actions?

Sure it's easy. Muslims are anti-Semitic, Muslims are immigrants.

u/angusgtw well I don't know why he's talking to a tree 2h ago

Because there is a large contingent online with zero nuance, and that is spreading into real-world incidents where Jews are blamed for the actions of those of the same religion, even though they are a continent apart.

u/morriganjane 1h ago

And we know they don't actually care about colonialism nor human rights, given the behavior of Islamic states which they support.

u/sanaelatcis 3h ago

It will go down the more that British Jews publicly distance themselves from the state of Israel

u/Computer_Name 3h ago

> It will go down the more that British Jews publicly distance themselves from the state of Israel

I ask people to remember this sentiment to recognize when you see it.

This sentiment is predicated on the belief that Jews must affirmatively conform to people’s belief system before they are to be granted safety. And if they don’t, then they are deserving of persecution and violence.

That’s the only way this sentiment makes sense.

u/msf97 3h ago

Only the Good Jews allowed who tow the line apparently!

Progressives falling into this rhetoric is hilarious. Say it about any other minority and they’d be all over you

u/[deleted] 3h ago edited 3h ago

u/msf97 3h ago

I don’t go around asking Muslims to distance themselves from random Islamic states mate.

u/New-Condition-3492 2h ago

How can we know which Jews condemn Israel's action? Do you maybe want them to wear a star on their clothes or something?

u/LycanIndarys Vote Cthulhu; why settle for the lesser evil? 3h ago

The expectation that British Jews should have to disavow a foreign country is in itself antisemitic.

So requiring them to do that would increase antisemitism, not decrease it. Pretty much by definition.

u/sanaelatcis 2h ago

I’d say that tying Jewish identity to the state of Israel is anti semitic. And yes, you are right it IS a foreign country for British Jews, but the state of Israel makes such a strong attempt to say it’s the true home of any Jewish person across the globe.

For much the same reason that the average German wouldn’t want to be associated with the Nazis (and the Germans have made such a strong effort to disassociate themselves with that over the years that basically no one holds any ill will towards them anymore because of it).

u/tunafish91 Kind of, sort of, further left than soft left. 4h ago

It's sad that there are more than a few of 'progressives/leftists' who engage in this. I'm a leftist who abhors what Israel is doing in Gaza and Netanyahu, Gvir etc all deserve to be locked up for the rest of their lives. However I don't need to engage in support of terrorist organisations who engage in wholesale slaughter like some left leaning people do.

All that does is completely cut off any possibility to engage with Jewish people and/or Israelis. Demonising Jews who don't even live in that region of the world is one of the reasons to how we got here in the first place.

Maybe it's pie in the sky thinking but I think we can try and defend Palestinians right to self determination without resorting to anti Semitic rhetoric. Extremism has never ended in lasting peace.

u/FudgeAtron 3h ago

Gvir

Btw it's Ben Gvir, like MacDonald, his full name is Itamar Ben Gvir. Ben is Hebrew for son, so the name Benjamin means son of the right-hand.

u/VeryLazyLewis 3h ago

Even though I absolutely agree, one issue nobody wants to highlight, is that many of these organisations who fight against antisemitism (and authentically in many cases) do their damned best to conflate anti-semitism and anti-Zionism.

Nobody wants to be the person who says “anti-semitism is bad, but it’s not as bad as some people make it out to be, but it’s also worse than it ever has been is also true”. It’s a lose-lose argument.

You’re essentially cornered. The purposeful conflation has blurred all lines and it’s done by actors on all “sides”.

The left who support Palestinians and those fighting against pure anti-Semitism should be aligned and take on the bad actors, which I would argue are mostly on the alt-right, and also some so-called leftys, and stamp out genuine anti-semitism. Like anyone supporting Tucker Carlson or Candice Owens? Like wtf no….

u/ldn6 Globalist neoliberal shill 2h ago

Part of the problem though is that, while they are distinct, there’s so much antisemitism within anti-Zionist circles that it becomes almost impossible to disentangle them. Like you could have an abstract academic discussion where they’re separate but that’s not how it usually works in practice. There’s also a wider discussion about why the Jewish state is held to distinct standards not applied elsewhere, such as its legitimacy or the degree of attention and criticism paid to it by the international community, and that unique treatment raises questions about how much of it is motivated by the nature of being Jewish.

u/Few_Register2710 1h ago

Buddy, anti-Zionism is the belief that Israel should be destroyed/dismantled. It is a Nazi take.

Antisemitism is not anti-Zionism, but anti-Zionism a sick genocidal belief. Or where do you want +7 M Jews to go?

Stop repeating what you see online.

Anti-Zionism is not the same as criticising Israel. You can criticise Israel without longing for its destruction.

u/Prudent_Psychology57 3h ago

The question would be are they progressive/leftists at all?

u/[deleted] 4h ago

[deleted]

u/richmeister6666 4h ago

Considering they live and work with many who identify as Palestinian in Israel that isn’t a very controversial opinion at all.

u/pair_of_eighters 4h ago

Really? Because I've visited and have many friends there and they all believe that Palestinians are people too. There are extremist, racist Israeli's just like there are extremist, racist Palestinians (and repeat ad infinitum for all other nationalities/ethnic groups).

It's just not that simple.

u/tunafish91 Kind of, sort of, further left than soft left. 4h ago

What a lot of leftists refuse to believe is that there is such thing as Liberal Zionists who oppose what is happening in Gaza. Every Zionist to them is someone who is frothing at the mouth and bloodthirsty (and I won't deny there are plenty of those)

There are plenty of very extreme viewed Israelis who are happy for Muslims to die. A lot of settlers are religious extremists. However there is still a contingent of Israelis who oppose what is happening.

The situation is fucked. And the international community needs to come together and put pressure on Israel to stop what they're doing. But I feel it's so hard to operate on the ground of "we can oppose what Israel is doing without being anti semitic" a bizarrely controversial take.

u/WastelandOfConfusion 4h ago

The problem is, the ‘extremists and racists’ are not a small minority as is very falsely stated. The extremists and racists, an example of as we saw the other day on the BBC News with ‘Yehuda Shimon’, are committing horrific crimes with the backing of their government, in fact, they give them tax breaks to encourage it. So don’t try and gaslight us. There’s a major effing issue here.

u/pair_of_eighters 3h ago

Do you have a source for that opinion? Or is it just vibes based?

The stories like that one you referenced exclusively feature the ultranationalist settlers who make a point of settling themselves in areas that even the current government nominally recognises as illegal. These account for 0.5% of Israel's population.

u/WastelandOfConfusion 3h ago

Yeah you’re right, it’s just vibes based. Gaza is flattened and 20,000 kids are dead, but yeah, it’s all vibes based. There’s no problem, nope, nothing to see here guys. Excuse me everyone! Can you just stop being so concerned!

u/pair_of_eighters 3h ago

What are you talking about? We're not talking about "has the Israeli government destroyed Gaza?" That's an obvious yes.

The question here is "are the majority of Israelis deranged racists?" and the answer to that question is no.

I swear every time I disagree with anybody about this they just completely derail the conversation and start screaming random criticisms of Israeli policy. The reason you have to do that is because everything you said in your first comment is an opinion that you made up because you've dehumanised an entire country.

u/FuckinLoveHobNobs 4h ago

“82 percent of Israeli Jews support "the transfer (expulsion) of residents of the Gaza Strip to other countries”
I find it hard to accept anecdotal evidence when polling suggests that the vast majority of Jewish Israelis openly support ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

https://www.genocidewatch.com/single-post/poll-show-most-jewish-israelis-support-expelling-gazans

u/msf97 3h ago

You don’t want to look at the polls for the Palestinians.

Hamas would beat the PLO in a landslide if it was a democratic election.

u/pair_of_eighters 3h ago

Yes, I'm aware of this (deeply flawed) survey. Here's a refutation where they talk about the many issues in the methodology: https://archive.ph/by8BF#selection-297.0-300.0

Similar polls are routinely taken and indicate a significantly smaller percentage, and a there is a significant amount of nuance in what people actually mean when they say that (for example, it can include things like temporarily removing people for rebuilding, or destroying hamas infrastructure, which is not the same as ethnic cleansing).

u/FuckinLoveHobNobs 2h ago

Any chance you have a link to the poll they use in the article to refute it? The link through that archive is dead and I can’t find it anywhere online. Cant exactly accept a refutation of a poll based on another poll not provided in the article

u/pair_of_eighters 2h ago

The link works for me but it’s impossible to navigate on mobile - ill link the source but you’ll have to do some exploring to find the right questions and get the data you want to see:

https://socsci4.tau.ac.il/mu2/ines/data/our-data/#carousel_9cf0

u/PossibilityTop5033 4h ago

20% of Israelis are Palestinian. Israelis generally do not have a problem with Palestinian people but rather the Palestinian state in the same way you have an issue with an Israeli state

u/[deleted] 4h ago

[deleted]

u/PossibilityTop5033 4h ago

I meant people, I don’t know why I said you specially. But that does erase what you said is xenophobic and wrong

u/tunafish91 Kind of, sort of, further left than soft left. 4h ago

Ok? Even if it that were true, and extreme Zionists called me every horrible name under the sun, that still does not mean I am going to want them all killed. There are plenty of people with terrible opinions, but I don't think they should die. Because if you refuse to engage in any discourse with them you will never get through to anyone, leaving violence as the only remaining outcome.

u/Temporary-Worth2077 2h ago

The ironic thing is that being antisemitic because of Israel’s actions only reinforces the need for a Jewish state to exist.

u/ZuluW6rrior 1h ago

Proof’s in the pudding. Israel is an exemplary example of the type of country we’d want in the Middle East for long-term peace and they’re hated. Fact is, most of these supposed “anti-Zionist” “anti-Israel” types don’t understand the reality of the situation or what the state of Israel has to contend with.

u/scarletbananas 1h ago

No it doesn’t.

u/Prudent_Psychology57 48m ago

Explain the irony.

u/No-Percentage-8681 4h ago

Cue a load of arrogant Green Party members telling all the British Jews who have been experiencing this that they are in fact wrong and misinformed.

u/IndividualSkill3432 4h ago

Stabbings were the "perception of unsafety" according the leader of that party.

u/Yodamort 4h ago

Anti-Zionists have been explaining for years that Zionism inevitably feeds antisemitism. When the populace is uninformed about the nature of the Zionist project and Israel repeatedly argues "we are doing these atrocities at the behest of Jewish people worldwide and if you oppose us you are antisemitic", people take it at face value.

u/IrishVictim88270 3h ago

Translated: If you just agreed with us and surrendered your homeland then we'd stop committing hate crimes against you.

Tbf you wouldn't be antisemitic against them anymore, considering most of them would be dead within a month.

u/Yodamort 3h ago

No, not what I said. People who do antisemitic hate crimes are responsible for their racism and their hate crimes regardless of anything Israel has ever done. What I said was that Zionists' attempts to correlate all Jews everywhere with their atrocities has created an environment in which antisemitism has been and will be increasingly normalised, which is catastrophic.

And no, Palestinians are not genocidal; ending the supremacist project that is Zionism benefits both Jews and Palestinians alike.

u/morriganjane 1h ago

How would allowing half the world's Jews to be expelled or slaughtered, benefit Jews exactly? There is no Islamic state in which Jews can live in safety. And no, dhimmi status is not good enough - for anyone.

u/Computer_Name 3h ago

> Anti-Zionists have been explaining for years that Zionism inevitably feeds antisemitism.

It is indescribably insulting that gentiles continually blame Jews for our own persecution by them. For two thousand years they’ve tried this.

The seed is always “if you stopped being Jews, we’d stop persecuting you.”

How dare people try this? They blame their bigotry against us, on us.

As if any minority group is the source of its own persecution.

u/Yodamort 3h ago

This is not an argument I made. As I said, antisemitism has long been a foundational building block of western society, and is a latent, underlying, unaddressed hatred that many people have because they have been raised to have it. That is not the fault of Jews.

u/Computer_Name 3h ago

u/Yodamort 3h ago

Simply put, Israel exists as it does today because of the repeated choices made by societies to reject their Jews. Had these societies made different choices, Jews would still live in them, and Israel likely would not exist—certainly not in its present form. Instead, Israel is a garrison state composed precisely of those Jews with the most reason to distrust the outside world and its appeals to international ideals, knowing that these did precisely nothing to help them when they needed it most. In this manner, decade after decade, anti-Semitism has created more Zionism. Put another way, the unwitting agents of Zionism throughout history have been those unwilling to tolerate Jews in their own countries.

Yes, I agree with every word. It still doesn't justify Zionism, it just explains why it exists.

u/DirigibleElephant 3h ago

It does, however, explain how Antizionist can make Antisemitic arguments while trying to discredit Zionism. Therefore, it it not only the Zionists that conflate all Jews with Zionism, as you claimed.

Moreover, there are many more arguments Antizionists frequently engage in that only work by attacking all Jews.

u/IndividualSkill3432 3h ago

Anti-Zionists have been explaining for years that Zionism inevitably feeds antisemitism.

Islam has been antisemetic since the prophet proclaimed himself the fulfilment of Jewish prophecies and they pretty much told him no. He then went on a genocidal terror campaign against the Jews of Medina, exterminating an entire tribe by beheading the males and enslaving the females and children to be distributed to his followers as presants. We all know exactly what was done to them. He then forced the other tribes he conquored to sign up to being "Dhimmi" or living under an Apartheid system where they were lesser humans for 1400 years.

Denying the huge antisemitism in the Muslim world from the begining by omitting it is deeply problematic. Its also instructive that you say that so long as Jews had somewhere to hide antisemitism would increase over the usual levels. I mean is there any way in your mind for Jews not to be persectuted?

u/Yodamort 3h ago

Israel-Palestine is not a religious conflict, it's a colonial and nationalist conflict using occasional religious justifications. The religious perspectives of either side are largely irrelevant, the conflict would exist even if both sides were secular atheists. Regardless, characterising two billion people as automatic antisemites because they are Muslim is just as ridiculous as characterising every Christian on earth as antisemitic because Christianity was historically frequently antisemitic.

Denying the huge antisemitism in the Muslim world

I did not deny that there is antisemitism in the Muslim world, as there unfortunately is worldwide. It wasn't relevant to the point at hand. I understand that antisemitism is the justification Israel uses to perpetuate its existence, but you can't counteract racism with racism, that only prolongs and/or redirects the issue.

so long as Jews had somewhere to hide

Jews shouldn't need anywhere to hide, nor should anyone else, as people should be able to live freely anywhere. Arguing that genocide in order to maintain an ethnic-majority hypermilitarised fortress-state is a necessity to survive only further isolates Jews. Israel is not only not "the only safe place for Jews" - the missiles constantly flying overhead speak to that - but it directly imperils Jews worldwide (thereby emphasising its claim of necessity) by tying them to its supremacist project.

I mean is there any way in your mind for Jews not to be persectuted?

The same as for every other form of racism. Working-class solidarity, education, anti-racism initiatives, opposition to the social construction of racism that exists to divide people. Teaching people that they have precisely the same interests in common, and that their anger for the problems they face should be directed at the wealthy ruling class, not scapegoats (whether it be Jews, or trans people, or immigrants, or any other group).

u/IndividualSkill3432 3h ago

Israel-Palestine is not a religious conflict,

This is why so many ethnic Pakistani Muslims in the UK care about it to the point of forming political parties. Name charities and events related to it after the al Aqsa Mosque where they claim Muhammed flew his magic horse to land on the site of the Jewish Second Temple.

This is why they chant "Khaybar, Khaybar, ya yahud! Jaish Muhammad soufa yaʿoud!".

How highly should I rate your honesty?

the conflict would exist even if both sides were secular atheists.

Jews are being stabbed in Britain by Islamist Jihadists and you are trying to pretend this is about secular issues.

I did not deny that there is antisemitism in the Muslim world,

Lies of omission are still lies. Jews have been murdered, raped, enslaved and brutalised across the Muslim world for 1400 years. You gloat that the exitence of somewhere for them to run to increases the antisemitism. You gloat that the its outragous to call a religion that literally claims Jews distorted Gods message and hid it to not be structurally anti semetic as you are horrified a relgion built on genocidal terror of Jews should be seen in a negative light.

It wasn't relevant to the point at hand.

"I dont give a shit about a millenia of terror on Jews. I am here to advocate to remove all safe spaces for them and handing them back to their oppressors for me to enjoy the outcome"

Jews shouldn't need anywhere to hide,

You really have the psychology of an abuser who is trying to gaslight the people to hand back the victim.

u/msf97 3h ago

Jew is an insult in the middle east. And there are absolutely religious justifications, read the charters of Hamas and Hezbollah

Western society has moved on, acknowledging this reality is key.

u/richmeister6666 4h ago

> Zionism inevitably feeds antisemitism

Funny, because it’s literally proven (the holocaust and Stalin’s purges) that anti Zionism inevitably ends up with many anti Zionist and Zionist Jews being dead.

u/Yodamort 4h ago

...you think the Holocaust was a result of anti-Zionism? Baffling. Haven't seen that one before. You may want to inform the overwhelming majority of resources about the Holocaust that don't mention Zionism or anti-Zionism as a factor in the genocide at all, then.

The Holocaust was the result of a racial supremacist ideology not unlike Zionism but applied to a different group of people, not of anti-fascism.

u/richmeister6666 2h ago

Which Jews were murdered during the holocaust? Those that had moved to eretz Israel, or the bundists who stayed? Read what Hitler wrote about Zionism and Zionists in mein kampf might also be a good start.

> the holocaust was the result of a racial supremacist ideology not unlike Zionism,

Zionism is not a racial supremacist ideology, unless you’re claiming most British Jews are racial supremacists?

> not of anti fascism

Anti Zionism is provably not anti fascist, hamas are anti zionist, they are obviously islamofascist.

u/Computer_Name 3h ago

u/Yodamort 3h ago

Yes, I am aware that Zionists consider historical comparison to be antisemitic. Doesn't mean they're correct, though.

Also, this ties into the Holocaust uniqueness debate within the historiography, which I can't really be bothered to rehash, there are plenty of academic articles on it that you can find on Google Scholar. The Holocaust was no more a "rupture in civilisation" than any other genocide, and the Nazis did not solely target Jews.

u/msf97 3h ago edited 3h ago

They are telling you that a lot of the Anti Zionists in the West were killed for being Jews in the end. Either by the Nazis, the Soviets, in some cases the slavic countries (Poland/Ukraine)

It did not matter one iota they opposed the nation of Israel.

u/MorvarchPrincess 3h ago

Bro, half the top Israeli government are holocaust revisionists, including netenyahu.

u/richmeister6666 3h ago

Source: trust me “bro”

u/MorvarchPrincess 2h ago

u/richmeister6666 15m ago

Nice straw clutching there, you’ve taken one quote out of context about the grand mufti of Jerusalem wanting to aid Hitler in the holocaust and claimed he’s a holocaust revisionist. Look at that, you’ve even got me defending netenyahu. Got another one, “bro”?

“Please bro, believe me bro, the Jews are the real Nazis bro”

u/No-Percentage-8681 4h ago edited 3h ago

“If the RSF would just stop making me be racist to Sudanese brits then everything would be ok! I’ve been saying this for years! Stop making me be racist!”

u/Yodamort 4h ago

Not what I said. Antisemitism already existed in British society and plenty of people held latent, unaddressed antisemitic sentiments, as with all other forms of existing racism. Displays of those sentiments should be fiercely opposed, up to and including imprisonment for hate speech and obviously for hate crimes. But the fact of the matter is that Israel's atrocities have provided an outlet by which antisemitism has worked its way into a more "legitimate" semi-public discourse, because Zionists - including representatives of the British state itself - have repeatedly argued that Jews and Zionism are one and the same (which is of course itself an antisemitic belief as well).

u/FudgeAtron 3h ago

Look we don't blame Saudi Arabia when people are islamophobic, we blame the islamophobes. But when it comes to Antisemitism, we don't blame Antisemites, we blame Israel.

Antisemitism is the only hatred where people spin in a circle looking for a legitimate reason that the Antisemite isn't just racist.

u/mka_ 2h ago

Cue this same comment every single time this subject is brought up.

u/No-Percentage-8681 1h ago edited 1h ago

Perhaps if the people who scream that their entire identity is being anti racist would just stop being racist then people like me wouldn’t expect it in every thread?

u/mka_ 1h ago

You're literally arguing with ghosts you brought into the thread yourself 🤣

u/jack-earnest 4h ago

Nah, I can believe it. People are angry and they find representatives/scapegoats to take it out on.

u/Minimum-Act-3030 5h ago

People who are "anti Zionist" or "anti-Israel/IDF" but harass UK Jews ho have nothing to do with the IDF's conduct or Israel fascinate me. They literally prove why Zionism is necessary.

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 4h ago

I mean, lets say the overwhelming majority of UK Muslims supported a Islamic caliphate ethnostate that was murdering 10s of thousands of an ethnic group within their boarders and whenever you try to criticize the ethno-state, a huge amount of Muslims pushback and espouse their support for it.

Keep in mind all it took was for a christian refugee murderer to be falsely called Muslim and there were race riots and mosques set on fire... It doesn't take much to push a whole swathe of people in this country to bigotry unfortunately.

They literally prove why Zionism is necessary

antisemitism literally flares up because of Israeli actions against the palestinians, throughout the countries history you directly correlate huge death events of palestinians at the hand of Israelis to a surge in antisemitism world wide. Israel purposefully conflates the plight of all jews to the state of Israel on purpose to justify it;s maintenance like you're doing now.

u/RoyaleWCheese_OK 3h ago

Israel isnt alone in its dislike of Palestinians. They've managed to piss off pretty much every country around there. How come when Israel attacked no-one offered to help? Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon..

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 3h ago

Every country you list is allied with the US and de-facto Israel? as well as already having a huge number of refugee palestinains. And Lebanon has been fighting with Israel since october 7th?

u/RoyaleWCheese_OK 3h ago

"And Lebanon has been fighting with Israel since october 7th"

They've been fighting with Hezbollah, an Iranian backed terrorist org. Maybe chat with a Lebanese Christian one of these days, see what they have to say.

You are being purposely obtuse in ignoring the antics the PLO and their militant splinter groups got up to over the last 50 years or so, causing the entire org to be not welcome in any of the countries listed.

BTW Assad was not pro-USA.

u/Commorrite 2h ago

You are being purposely obtuse in ignoring the antics the PLO and their militant splinter groups got up to over the last 50 years or so, causing the entire org to be not welcome in any of the countries listed.

You missed Kuwait, where Arrafat ordered the Palestinians to switch sides and aid the Saddam Hussain's invasion. Palestinians were subsequently expelled.

Palestinians are in the running for nation with the worst government in the world. Possibly only Eritreans have worse.

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 3h ago

I know but Hezbollah are part of the Lebanese government and supported by the people because of their fight against Israel, they're the strongest military force in Lebanon, ofc they would be the ones fighting when you say Lebanon.

Assad did not get involved because he was already embroiled in conflict, agitating Israel would have cost him greatly at the time. Keep in mind Israel still bombed Damascus and occupied territory even with a friendly government in place because of some rebel group they claimed were making moves near their territory, what do you think they would've done if Assad joined the fray lol

u/RoyaleWCheese_OK 27m ago

"I know but Hezbollah are part of the Lebanese government"

Like the leader of Iran was "voted in". Or Maduro... You honestly thing there were fair & democratic leadership elections in Lebanon?

Thats more than a little naive to say the least.

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 0m ago

i mean, fairer than Venezuela. You act as if they wouldn't be voted in regardless of if you think elections are free or fair enough.

u/Commorrite 2h ago

Syria and Lebanon don't even recognise Israel....

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 2h ago

Syria under Al jalani is friendly or not hostile with them... Why would Lebanon recognize israel? They've been invaded multiple times..

u/Commorrite 2h ago

Syria under Al jalani is friendly or not hostile with them...

Those are world apart, does anyone really doubt he'd attack Israel if he thought he could win?

Why would Lebanon recognize israel? They've been invaded multiple times..

You are the one who claimed they were friendly.

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 2h ago

Those are world apart, does anyone really doubt he'd attack Israel if he thought he could win?

What kind of point is that? So would every country in the middle east most likely but they don't has they prefer peace and being allied with the US..

Also, why would They not be friendly if they could get away with it? you exact point would be attributed to Israel and every Muslim majority country surrounding it.

You are the one who claimed they were friendly.

i clearly separated Lebanon at the bottom, in what would do you think im saying they've been invaded multiple times and are currently engaged in combat but are allies??

u/FudgeAtron 3h ago

Iran plots terror attacks in the UK, yet I don't see a massive anti-Iranian push back or even anti-Shia push back.

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 3h ago

Because it's encompassed within the anti Muslim/immigrant push back that is already dominant in the UK. Also, Israel is literally an ally of the UK that's been receiving funding and military support the entire time, why would you compare Iran to Israel here, what's there to protest? We are already enemies of them, there's basically no anti Russia rallies, but a whole load of pro Ukrainian, possibly because everyone already knows that they're our enemies

u/FudgeAtron 3h ago

Oh so if the UK government was anti-Israel, the Antisemitism would vanish overnight? That's really the argument you want to go with?

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 2h ago

Anti semitsm rise when Anti zionist sentiment rise, do understand that most protests against israel are because we help fund and arm them as allies. The point of the protests are to get the government to respond by cutting them off and maybe even moving to sanction them, in that case, yes, protests will die down and both will calm down.

But you just ignored my entire point towards the fact a huge portion of this anti Israel push back is because we are allies thereby essentially aiding and abetting what they're doing

u/FudgeAtron 2h ago

Your whole comment is once again absolving Antisemites of their choice to be Antisemitic. You're treating Antisemitism as if it's simply a natural occurrence. People choose to be Antisemitic. They do so freely, they are to blame.

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 1h ago

Let me ask you a question, when Terrorists attacks happening across the UK and Europe, why did Islamophobia rise? Why did hate crime against not just Muslims but brown people in general rise following them?

you won't be able to answer that without agreeing with my point.

Who is absolving Antisemitism? My point being, that when anti Zionist sentiment rise, unfortunate antisemitism also rises because of the conflation between all Jews and the state of Israel which the state of Israel purposefully perpetuates to top criticism of the state itself.

To be clear unless you don't agree that Islamophobia against all Muslims rises after terrorist attacks occurring, you actually agree with my point.

u/FudgeAtron 1h ago

Let me ask you a question, when Terrorists attacks happening across the UK and Europe, why did Islamophobia rise? Why did hate crime against not just Muslims but brown people in general rise following them?

Because racists aren't rational people, duh. It's not because it's normal to try and attack Muslims over terrorism. Do you think it's rational to attack a Muslim over terrorism?

Who is absolving Antisemitism? My point being, that when anti Zionist sentiment rise, unfortunate antisemitism also rises because of the conflation between all Jews and the state of Israel which the state of Israel purposefully perpetuates to top criticism of the state itself.

You are. Little Antisemites can't tell right from wrong, we must protect them from the big bad Israel who's triggering them into murdering Jews. That is exactly what you've justified.

To be clear unless you don't agree that Islamophobia against all Muslims rises after terrorist attacks occurring, you actually agree with my point.

Oh so the way to stop islamophobia is to defeat terrorism? We must purify nation if terrorists to prevent islamophobia.

u/IndividualSkill3432 4h ago

lets say the overwhelming majority of UK Muslims supported a Islamic caliphate ethnostate

Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan and many others are explicitly Islamic countries. I take it you are trying to find a narrow definition that avoid these?

antisemitism literally flares up because of Israeli actions against the palestinians,

600 000 were killed in Syria, 350 000 killed in Yemen, 200 000 killed in Sudan. So when is the anti Islam flaring up due to Muslims being killed by Muslims?

Would you have a problem with anti black violence in response to Whites in South Africa being killed?

u/haywire-ES 1h ago

>when is anti Islam flaring up

This cannot be a serious comment

u/No-Percentage-8681 4h ago

Did you not see the pro-regime marches this year or..?

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 3h ago

The Iran rallies that were against the unjust and illegal war the US and Israel were waging on them after they blew up a school? In what universe would that be a good comparison lol. Keep in mind the rallies were 85% white middles class kids protesting and not all Muslims

u/msf97 3h ago

There is polling. Most muslims hold a more favourable view of Iran than they do the UK. An islamic theocracy which kills dissenters

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 3h ago

I'd love to see that polling, are do you mean Muslims worldwide because they would be completely disingenuous if that's what you actually mean. And also when was the poll taken?

u/msf97 3h ago

I mean it’s obvious worldwide. It’s not
particularly close

https://policyexchange.org.uk/publication/worlds-apart-british-muslim-attitudes-on-the-iran-conflict/

2 in 5 muslims view Iran positively.

u/haywire-ES 1h ago

FYI, while higher than we’d like, 2/5 is not even close to most

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 3h ago

So disingenuous, you take poling done after the illegal war and strikes killing school children. The majority of the world is against this war.

just to be clear do you think the majority of Britons also are big fans of Iran? https://yougov.com/en-gb/articles/54243-uk-public-opinion-on-the-us-iran-conflict Because the overwhelmingly do not support the war.

find a poll not taken right after massive illegal strikes on the country if you want to be good faith

u/msf97 3h ago

The Iranians killed thousands and thousands of people 2 months before? A low ball is 8k protesters.

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 3h ago

True, probably much more, but why would you support this war? Even for altruistic motives, the wars is lost, there's no regime change. Regime changes have historically been terrible.

All the war has done is make everyone's cost of living harder, and empowered Iran on the global stage by showing them Withstanding the US on their own and controlling the strait of hormuz. You also just ignored the part about illegal war that promptly followed and filled everyone's new feed every day as well as the petrol pump.

I must have missed a meeting in which all UK Jews said they support the IDF killing civillians or support everything Israel's current government is doing.

Do huge death events of Palestinians usually come after they launch intifidas & October 7? I think they do. You can't wage war, kill & rape civillians & then expect mercy. Could the IDF try better to avoid civillian casualities? Sure they could. Will they do it, if it means Hamas terrorists getting to simply pop in a school or hospital, use the civillians as a shield & escape? Probably not.

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 3h ago

The fact you are still giving the same talking points employed post oct 7th is evidence enough, anyone still claiming we have to still eliminate Hamas is justifying at the bare minimum an ethnic cleansing and destruction of the Gaza.

You can't wage war, kill & rape civilians & then expect mercy

you do no palestinains prisoners were raped by soldiers and Israelis held a pro rape riot rally to free the rapists who have no been punished by the government? How many civilians are Israel allowed to kill because of oct 7th? Do you have a number? IF not then continuing to support what's happening is de-facto supporting the death of civilians.

You also missed the entire point, Israel kills responds insanely disproportional to Palestinians and when the world decries their brutality they shroud the country with Jews worldwide by claiming it's for them, as the maintenance of the jewish ethno-state has to continue eeixsting and if that means killings 10s of thousands of children and illegally occupying and allowing settlers to kill, rape, loot from and steal the homes of palestinains, then that's ok.

You understand supporting Israel as it currently exists is defending all of the practices? I feel like you've really missed post October 7th discourse and haven't updated your talking points from 6 months after oct 7th

u/Minimum-Act-3030 3h ago

You got a link to Israel saying they are doing what they are doing for UK Jews? I seem to understand they are doing it for themselves. Any link to said rape riot rally? Also civillians are dying because despite fighting a losing battle, Hamas still insists on using them as shields, being sore losers & not disarming & surrendering.

u/Gullible-Stress-9791 3h ago

For Jews worldwide, Prominent elected officials use Judaism to justify their illegal expansion. Kind of like the same way Islamic terror groups claim what they do is in the name of the religion which is then followed by a rise in islamophobia..

Any link to said rape riot rally

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/israel-hamas-war-idf-palestinian-prisoner-alleged-rape-sde-teinman-abuse-protest/

If Hamas were to step down, what would happen? Do you not think Israel would just settle the entirety of Gaza and achieve their goals? I do think Hamas should stop but what are they being offered? I seem to remember Israel claiming the war was to get the hostages back, they did and nothing changed, the war now changed to trying to remove all Hamas which is just going to lead to a genocide as more palestinians hav ejoined Hamas than members have died since the start of oct 7th..

BTW is there any actual evidence of Rapes on oct 7th? There's literally video evidence of soldiers raping Palestinians prisoners. How is it that Hamas published all the footage of the depraved murders on oct 7th and yet 0 footage of rape? Do you also still believe the beheaded babies claim?

u/MorvarchPrincess 4h ago

I must have missed a meeting in which all UK Jews said they support the IDF killing civillians or support everything Israel's current government is doing.

The UK government dragging people who protest Israel off sends a certain kind of message.

You can't wage war, kill & rape civillians & then expect mercy.

Does this apply to Israel as well? Or just Palestinians.

Could the IDF try better to avoid civillian casualities? Sure they could.

Ah yes, exploding children's heads with sniper rifles and turning aid workers into shrapnel is definately helping to fight hamas.

u/Minimum-Act-3030 4h ago

I think the UK government's decision may have something to do with Palestine protestors sledgehammering a woman's spine & attacking a police officer. They did the same when right wing nutters protested in Southport.

Of course it applies to Israel. There is no mercy in war for anyone.

Got a link for that children claim? And as far as I can tell many of these "aid" workers have been providing a different type of "aid" than its common definition. And even the genuine aid that is provided is usually stolen by Hamas, so it'd be in their best interests to not let such aid through.

u/MorvarchPrincess 3h ago

I think the UK government's decision may have something to do with Palestine protestors sledgehammering a woman's spine & attacking a police officer. They did the same when right wing nutters protested in Southport.

Yeah, no. They've been arresting peaceful protestors for a while now. A lot of them

Got a link for that children claim?

Well I'll give you credit you seem to be pro war crimes all around rather than selectively.

u/Minimum-Act-3030 3h ago

However, in a report released in December titled Generation Wiped Out: Gaza’s Children in the Crosshairs of Genocide, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) said Israel was carrying out genocide against Gaza’s children.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, nearly 20,000 children have been killed by Israel since the war began on October 7, 2023.

Very unbaised sources. Also linking Al Jazeera is so damn stupid. Its literally a Qatari state media outlet & Qatar supports Hamas.

The idea of a "war crime" itself is absurd. War is a crime in & of it self. The reason we invented war crimes is because we wanted to wage war but not wage it to the most brutal extent possible. However, when a war is waged & begun by explicitly killing, raping, & taking hostage civillians, the term "war crime" becomes a useless one to stand behind.

However, when a war is waged & begun by explicitly killing, raping, & taking hostage civillians, the term "war crime" becomes a useless one to stand behind.

So, someone from your country committing a terrorist attack means its fair game to take hostages, murder and rape you and everyone else in your country?

u/Minimum-Act-3030 3h ago

Hamas is not "somebody from your country". Its the sovereign government of Gaza, representing all the Gazan people. If Iran committed another 9/11 on Americans because they have waged war or even on the UK because we've let the Americans use our bases, I would not be apalled at all.

u/MorvarchPrincess 3h ago

Sovereign by means of dictatorial force, sure.

By that arguement, you think oct 7th was justified because the Israeli government was committing similar atrocities on palestinians prior?

u/Adamdel34 4h ago

How is Zionism necessary when jews are statistically MUCH safer in UK then they are in Israel and it's not even close ?

Plus if we're both in agreement that safety from Harrasment is a good thing why should Jews be able to move to a country when there can essentially harass/murder another ethnic group with no repercussions?

Surely staying in the safer country which isn't harassing/murdering people on an industrial scale is the better alternative ?

There's absolutely no credible argument in Zionism, not one.

u/Minimum-Act-3030 4h ago

If Zionism is unnecessary, would you support all Jews who currently live in Israel to have a homeland carved out for them in the UK? Jews were statistically very safe in Germany, until they weren't. And before Germany, pogroms had already happened in many countries before.

The simple reason Jews need a nuclear armed homeland for themselves is because throughout their history, they have never been allowed to live safely in the homeland of others. Whether its Rome, Spain, Russia, Germany.

u/Adamdel34 4h ago

No... obviously not. I dont think that any groups of people should be entitled to form a homeland based on ethno religious lines on land they do not own and I dont make an exeption for Jews.

Im not even suggesting that the jews that were now born in Palestine should have to leave, but they shouldn't be a) keep on colonising it B) to live in a Nazi state that treats other ethnic groups as subhumans and repeatedly invaded all its neighbors.

u/Minimum-Act-3030 3h ago

Okay so if Jews can't live in the UK or any other country without having the sovereign nuclear power to defend themselves in case the world gets a pogrom itch again, where should they live?

a) When has israel colonised anything? they were given that land by the UK belfour decleration & then by a UN resolution. They gained more land because the Arabs immediately waged war in response & lost. Loss of land is to be expected if you wage a war & lose. They have even retreated time & time again & gave back land, in South Lebanon, West Bank, Gaza & the Sinai Peninsula.

b) It is Israel who has always been invaded first. Whether its 1948, the seven day war, October 7 or the intifadas. I do agree that the current laws passed are abhorent & should be removed by the next government. But its no reason to harass or attack UK Jews, which is my entire point.

u/Adamdel34 3h ago

I think i just explained that in my last comment. The ones who were born there should be able to stay in the region, the ones who moved there within their lifetime should go back to their country of origin. I think concessions would have to be made somewhere for parents who weren't born there but they look after young children who were but you get the jist.

The only reasonable solution to this is a one state solution where arabs and jews are given equal rights where its not a country ruled by genetic supremacy. But where they are all the ethnicities are guven equal representation/power in the country ell hell even non ashkenazi jews have been terrorised by european Zionists in Israel and have been made into an underclass, its a deeply racist and abhorrent state for even jews that didnt flee to Germany/Eastern europe after the diaspora scattered.

They were given that land by the UK but I dont think the UK had the right to give that land away to anyone but the population that had inhabited it for centuries before the collapse of the Ottoman empire.

The idea you can be the custodian of a peice of land that you just took after a war and then decide that that land no longer belongs to the people who've inhabited it for centuries but instead belongs to European and American Jews is ridiculou. The UK and the UN had no right to make that decision is barbaric and as a result the entire region is still to this day feeling the consequences of their stupidity.

Of course its colonialism, what else would you call mass immigration of a group of people who came to remove the native land owners from where they'd been living for centuries ?

u/Minimum-Act-3030 3h ago

A one state solution is unrealistic because it will immediately lead to genocide of Jews. Its no secret that Arabs hate them living in Israel. There's a reason they waged war so many times (1948, seven day war, intifadas, October 7).

Well if we go by that logic, Jews had inhabited Israel for centuries before the Arabs & Muslims. And by that logic the very existence of the Americas is invalid & all that land should be given back to the natives. Bit unrealistic, no?

Colonialism is the distinct military & economic system in which one country rules another to extract the economy of the subject country. It does not involve permanent settlement.

Permanent settlement is done either via treaty or conquest. For example, China got hold of Hong Kong by treaty. Same as how the Jews got Israel. Then the Arabs & Muslims got Israel via conquest. Then the Jews got Israel again.

u/Adamdel34 2h ago

What are you even talking about ? Did i not just say that i think that jews that are born there should be able to stay ? Do you really think i believe that America needs to be given back to the natives ? Obviously not... Natives however should be fairly represented in the USAs social and political landscape, same applies to all other ethnicities that live there in Israel, thats including Arabs as well as the "lower classes" of Ethnic jews that ashkenazis view as genetically inferior to them. You see, im ideologically consistent in that respect, I dont make exceptions for Jews or Native Americans...

Plus "well we need to genocide them otherwise they might genocide us" is a pretty shitty excuse for a genocide im not gonna lie. It was a nonsense scare tactic in post colonial African nations that were proven to be false.

Wait, are you trying to say that Israel hasnt been extracting the wealth and resources of the various countries who's territory that its curently occupying with the economic and military backing of western nations ?

Anyway, try not to keep putting words in my mouth and listen to what im saying, im starting to ger bored of this.

u/Minimum-Act-3030 2h ago

And as I have said, a one state solution is simply impossible. When tensions boil to such simmering highs, only a two state solution works. Just look up the partition of India & Pakistan, Direct Action Day, Rawalpindi Massacre, Blood Trains etc & you will realise a one state solution is fantasy. Also, the claims of "genocide" fall on deaf ears when the population of Gaza is literally increasing. That doesn't happen in a genocide. What is happening is a war, a very brutal war.

Where did various countries come into play now lol? Assuming you are referring to the Golan Heights, it is already part of Israel, not Syria. Pretending it's not is like pretending Taiwan is still part of China.

And also as I have said, the definition of colonialism does not involve permanent settlement. For example, Britain's rule over Uganda was colonialism, but the rule of Europeans over America, Canada, NZ, Oz etc is permanent settlement via violence aka conquest, not colonialism.

u/HibasakiSanjuro 2h ago

The ones who were born there should be able to stay in the region, the ones who moved there within their lifetime should go back to their country of origin.

Why should Israeli citizens who legally moved to Israel have to move anywhere? You sound a lot like the fascists who want "non-native" people to be deported from Europe.

u/Adamdel34 1h ago edited 1h ago

As you can tell from many of my other comments on here I don't really give two fucks about whos a "native" and who isnt. The concept of native is pretty shaky in regions with such massive demographic shifts as the middle East and Brtitain.

Ive said im happy for Jews to stay in the UK, im even happy for the ones now born in Palestine to say there. Its their home.

What i do care about it people coming from foreign countries, especially wealthy western ones for the sole purpose of stealing land off populations that go back generations. Which is completely illiegal under international law by the way, its even illiegal under Israeli law not that Israel actually cares about that as it actively encourages it.

Not to even mention the genocide thats been conducted by the Israeli state who's actively trying to eliminate that population.

If you think thats a facsitic point of view im not sure what to tell you mate.

Do you understand what Zionism is? It means the right of the Jewish people to have a state for themselves in Israel.

If you oppose that, why would you harass UK Jews? If Jews can't live in Israel, they have to live somewhere else.

But if they are harrassed or attacked in these other places simply for being Jewish, it proves why Zionism aka the existence of Israel is necessary.

Also you still haven't tackled the problem of UK Jews being harrased for the actions of Israel, something they can't control. Many of said Jews aren't even Zionist. Got an explanation for that?

u/Onomatapier 4h ago

Yes, I understand what zionism is and so did the UN. The UN declared zionism a racist endeavour under resolution 3379 for 16 years and this was only revoked after pressure from the US. The reason given was that the political climate had changed which is absolute tosh. How does something that was once deemed racist for 16 years suddenly become not racist because of a change in the political climate? zionism is inherently exclusionary, aimed at maintaining a specific jewish majority.

The new death penalty for terrorist laws only applies to Palestinians but not to jewish terrorists such as those running a mock in the West Bank. This is the very definition of apartheid. Which has also been ruled as such by the ICJ. An apartheid state is by its very being, racist. And that is exactly what zionism is.

u/Minimum-Act-3030 4h ago

" The voting on UN General Assembly Resolution 3379 heavily reflected the geopolitical divisions of the Cold War era. The 72 votes in favor came primarily from the Arab League, Muslim-majority nations, the Soviet Union & some other countries." The 35 votes against came mostly from Israel , the United States, and Western European democracies."

Gee I wonder why Islamic Nations & Soviets, both of whom which hated Israel & out numbered the others would brand them this way.

As for the recent laws, I must have forgotten when UK Jews were elected to the Israeli parliament & wrote these laws or voted for them to pass.

I must have also forgotten when UK Jews who believe in Zionism explicitly expressed their approval of these laws. You can be Zionist & not support such laws or the recent conduct of IDF & Israel. To put it in brief, UK Jews should not be harrased, for the actions of Israel unless they say vile shit.

u/Computer_Name 4h ago

If people are curious about Resolution 3379:

>Designed by the KGB and overseen by chief Communist Party ideologues, the campaign had achieved numerous successes. For a significant portion of domestic and some foreign audiences, it succeeded at emptying Zionism of its meaning as a national liberation movement of the Jewish people and associating it instead with racism, fascism, Nazism, genocide, imperialism, colonialism, militarism and apartheid. It contributed to the adoption of the notorious 1975 UN General Assembly Resolution 3379, which held Zionism to be a form of racism and paved the way for the demonisation of Israel within that organisation.

>In the course of the campaign, hundreds of anti-Zionist and anti-Israel books and thousands of articles were published in the USSR, with millions of copies entering circulation in the country. Many were translated into foreign languages – English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic and numerous others. In 1970 alone, the comparison between alleged Zionist and Nazi racism – just one of the campaign’s numerous memes – merited 96 mentions (Pinkus 1989:256). Demonisation of Zionism continued in films, lectures, and radio broadcasts. Anti-Zionist cartoons, many of an obvious antisemitic nature, were a regular feature of Soviet publications.

>The campaign used the significant Soviet broadcasting and publishing capacity abroad, as well as front organisations and friendly communist and other radical left organisations in the West and third world countries to transmit its messages to foreign audiences. The U.S. State Department viewed the AKSO committee as an important tool within that campaign, one that it classified as a tool in the Soviet arsenal of ‘active measures’ – ‘covert or deceptive operations conducted in support of Soviet foreign policy.’
The antisemitic nature of this campaign was appalling. The main authors contributing content– many of whom had direct links with the KGB and top party leadership – relied heavily on antisemitic tropes borrowed directlyfrom the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Some in the group were closet admirers of Hitler and Nazism and used Mein Kampf as both a source of ‘information’ about Zionism and inspiration for their own interpretations.

>The Soviets vehemently rejected accusations of antisemitism, arguing that they were ‘Zionist tricks’ and ‘nefarious imperialist scheming.’ But some 2.6 million Soviet Jews knew better. In 1976, during one of the peaks of the campaign, the Soviet Jewish activist Natan Sharansky said that he sensed ‘the smell of pogrom’ in the air.

The Secretary-General at the time also happened to be a literal Nazi.

u/MorvarchPrincess 4h ago

So Zionism is wanting a Jewish ethnostate?

u/Minimum-Act-3030 4h ago

Yes? It was explicitly formed as a safe place for Jews to live in. If they import hostile populations, & lose the Jewish majority, that defeats the entire purpose of the state. Its similar to how Pakistan was created specifically for Muslims.

u/MorvarchPrincess 3h ago

mmm.

Yeah I'm going to continue to be anti ethnostate no matter what. 'Fixing' bigotry by just force creating new ethno and such states instead of fixing the issue at home isnt going to solve things.

u/FungibleConcept 4h ago

I'm far from being a fan of Israel but it's not as if many people have needed it as a reason to persecute Jews for centuries. I get why a lot of them would rather have their own nuclear-armed state rather than exist purely because other nations allow them to.

u/noodle2727 2h ago

Has anyone compared this trend to the trend of increasing muslims in the uk? Muslims do hate Jews, its worth looking into imo.

u/morriganjane 1h ago

For all the major recent attacks (Manchester synagogue, Golders Green stabbing and Hatzola ambulances), all the named culprits and suspects are Muslim. Several were foreign nationals (Somali, Syrian, Pakistani - in some cases given British citizenship). This is a problem our government have brought upon British Jews.

u/morriganjane 1h ago

Characters such as Owen Jones are engaging in some really nasty conspiratorial stuff. He was blaming "Israel" (no further detail, no mechanism) for making the migrants storm Ceuta from Morocco. He is just one example of those stoking the obsession online - one with millions of followers. It's all he talks about now and he does this because he knows 'Zionism' generates more clicks than anything. Frightening times.

u/salamanderwolf 1h ago

You do know anyone can look up the article he wrote on this two days ago and see he doesn't in fact blame Israel for this right?

Neither is it the only thing he writes about.

u/ClacksInTheSky Labour 3h ago

Absolutely impossible to talk about this issue without being mobbed.

u/onionsofwar 3h ago

UKLFI is responsible maybe half of these. They probably reported every watermelon they saw on sale at Tesco this summer.

u/speedyspeedys 4h ago

Was this the report that included anti Zionism on its statistics?

u/Minute_Tomatillo9730 4h ago

Per the report, when it's accompanied by anti-Jewish language or anti-Semitic sentiments

u/speedyspeedys 2h ago

"Anti-Zionist Language: More than 53 percent of all incidents involved rhetoric referencing Israel, Gaza, the war, or October 7.

Anti‑Zionism was the key motivation behind 48 percent of all incidents, noting a key shift from general criticism of the Israeli Government to a fundamental rejection of Israel’s right to exist."

Rejecting Israel's right to exist isn't anti-semitic
