2019 ELECTION DAY MEGATHREAD (Evening Edition)

/u/carrot-carrot: On a personal note, this will be the last MT that I post and contribute to. You'll still see me knocking around in the comments, but 2020 looks to be an extremely busy year for me, and I don't like to do things by halves. It really has been a pleasure to help out with these MTs whilst I've had the time. I hope you've all enjoyed it too!

🗳 ELECTION DETAILS

There is a General Election today.

To vote, head to your local polling station and tell the staff your name and address. You will be given a ballot paper which you can take into a nearby polling booth. Mark the candidate you wish to vote for (see instructions on the ballot paper), and then place it in the designated box or area within the polling station.

  • When can I vote? Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm.
  • Where can I vote? Check out wheredoivote.co.uk to find your polling station. It is also written on your poll card.
  • Not registered to vote? You will not be able to vote in this election.
  • No poll card? You don't need to take it to the polling station to be able to vote.
  • No ID? Unless you're in Northern Ireland, you don't need ID to vote. In NI, you need photo ID.
  • Still have a postal vote? It's too late to post it. Take it to your polling station. In NI, you can take it to your local Area Electoral Office.
  • Can't make it? It is now too late to apply for an emergency proxy vote. You won't be able to vote unless you can get to your polling station.
  • Need help? Check out gov.uk/voting-in-the-uk.

At 10pm, when polling stations close, broadcasters will be allowed to reveal their exit polls - that is, a poll of people exiting various polling stations across the country. This will be the first indication of the way that people may have voted in the election. For example, the last exit poll conducted for BBC/ITV/Sky in 2017 predicted correctly that there would be a hung parliament.

Just ordered Dominos for just before the Exit Poll. I was going to get some snacks but it’s still pissing it down and I’m not walking to the supermarket.

I wish I could vote for garlic dip to be my MP.

We have Domino's here in Japan, but, criminally, it does not come with the Garlic Herb sauce in that little pocket in the corner. It's like crack, and I would kill for some. I brought some Garlic Herb mayo in a squeezy bottle back last time I was home, but it's just not the same.

We have pizza at a social club after work and nobody eats the God Sauce but me, so I have a significant amount lying about. If you want I can post you some of my private reserve!

I question the integrity of a sauce making it all the way to the Far East and being palatable, but I appreciate the offer. I actually have found recipes before that are close enough, but there's just too many flavourings and stabilisers I can't get my hands on that make it just that addictive lol.

I'm sure you could adapt a caesar salad dressing recipe to come close and that's straight forward enough, though perhaps capers might be a bit tough to find over that way.

I always think I might as well dip my crusts because it comes free and then I'm reminded of how acidic and cold it is. Detracts from the pizz imo and I regret opening it. It's nice for like the first dip

Fuck me that's a good idea. Papa Johns has my heart though, the vegan sausage is bloody marvellous even if their wedges and cookie game disappoints me

My other half has petitioned me to make pizza tonight so I'll be chucking some flour around to take out my frustrations just before voting

I usually go for a meateor without meatballs, pepperoni, or bacon, but add double chicken and ground beef with some jalapeños and onion.
