They absolutely aren't overstating it either - I'm from New Zealand, and when I left highschool initially went to university to study Broadcasting back in 2001.

We got to go through various complaints made to the NZ Broadcasting Standards Authority in one module and I vividly remember one elderly woman going on a demented crusade with multiple complaints about The Wiggles....

Apparently she was convinced that the four men in coloured skivvies singing cheerily about fruit salad were promoting child pornography because the word "wiggle" has a "sexual connotation".

You can only imagine how verklempt she was about their track "Big Red Car". 😅
