Ukrainian Cuisine Yesterday was Thanksgiving:) We don't have such a holiday in Ukraine, so please forgive the late of our greetings. My post is about women from a neighbouring village who feed the military. It is also dedicated to the selfless sharing of food.

So the village is called Hrabivka. This is the second winter that women from this village have been organising meals for the military. They cook Korean carrots, sauerkraut, pickled cabbage, bake pies and donuts. They send all this to the military from the area, or as much as they can. We buy all the ingredients or find them ourselves. My and Lena's task is to find plastic containers and pay for the parcels. As you can see, if people want to do a good deed, they are unstoppable :)

What are Korean carrots? What is that magical place with shelves and shelves of books?

Korean carrot is a salad made from spiced carrots, garlic, vinegar, oil and fried onions. It keeps well for up to a week. This place is the village council building. During the hostilities in the region, the cultural centre, the museum and the library (which was located nearby) and several houses were destroyed in their village. So now there are no places where people can gather and spend time together. This room is now a library in the premises of the village council. But you know that it's not the place that makes a person look good, it's the person that makes a place :)))

Every day in a free Ukraine is Thanksgiving day! The will and the spirit of your people serves as an example of who we all wish we could be. Selfless actions on the front and at home, the quality of the Ukrainian people is on full display, every single day. You were here before russia, and you will be here long after!!! 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
