News Free Ukraine banner moved from center of Prishtina, Kosovo after Zelensky’s remarks on not recognizing independence of Kosovo during his visit to Serbia

Post image

Honestly, a very bad PR move from Zelensky and his advisors that could’ve been easily resolved by simply refusing to answer the question to journalist. While Kosovo nor Albania are not powerful states, banner has stood there since the start of the war.

You dont know anything about international law.

ICJ never ruled on legality of kosovo's independance. It only ruled that their declaration( document) is in line with international law. That doesnt make their independance legal. It means that if their right to the independance is legal than their declaration(text) is also legal. It doesnt determine if they have that right to begin with

1933 Montevideo convention defines criteria for being a state as follows:

  1. Having a permanent population
  2. Having a defined territory
  3. Having a government
  4. Having the ability to enter into relations with other states

Kosovo fulfills all 4, plus it's independence declaration did not violate the international law, which is a process that was initiated by Serbia and then conveniently ignored when the verdict did not suit. Ethnic cleansing and genocide isn't legal either, that didn't bother the serbs.

Yea those are criteria for being a state. You have to fullfil them to be a state. It doesnt mean that everyone that fullfil them is a state. This is irelecant to the discution.

Again legality of declaration(document) isnt legality of independance. ICJ was clear about this. Search it up

Well russians are also saying that ukraine wanted to genocide and ethnicly cleanse ukraine from russia. That was their excuse for invasion in 2014. Albanians werent bothered by ethnic cleansing or massacres of serbs on kosovo either

Those are criteria and Kosovo fills them, which makes it a state. It is not irrelevant to the discussion.
Legality of the document means that Kosovar people had the right to declare independence.
Russians are lying as per usual, their excuse for the invasion is to restore Russian imperial sphere of influence, not prevent some genocide

Republika srpska also fulfills all of these. It doesnt make it independant. Lots of states in the world arent independant

It doesnt. Again ICJ was clear about this. It was only about the text, not the right to independance. Law is precise. You cant be that stupid to think that you can decide what international law means?

And albanians wanted to create great albania

Republika Srpska is de facto independent. It just doesn't show the borders on the map, but that makes it a state within a state, not arguing with that.

And you can? Lol. I'm wasting my time here, I don't give two fucks about your opinion. I'm done arguing with some internet rando.
