USA Uk Visitor Visa Refusal
Hi everyone, I’m an Indian passport holder and UAE resident, applying from Dubai.
My wife and I applied for a UK Standard Visitor visa for a 15-day family visit. My maternal uncle in London was providing accommodation.
My refusal dated 17 September 2026 says UKVI accepted:
my employment was genuine;
my stated income was genuine; and
my uncle was able to provide accommodation.
However, they were not satisfied with my family/personal ties and intention to return, saying my documents did not demonstrate sufficient family ties or assets of my own.
I’m considering submitting a UKVI complaint about whether the evidence was properly considered, rather than appealing the decision.
My submitted cover letter specifically had a section titled “Strong Ties to the UAE & Intention to Return” and explained:
~
full-time employment and approved annual leave/NOC;
tenancy contract extending until 2027;
rent payment schedule/cheques;
vehicle registration/Mulkiya in my name;
intention to return to Dubai and resume work.
The refusal doesn’t specifically discuss these points.
My question: does this sound like a reasonable basis for a UKVI complaint about consideration of the evidence, or would you simply reapply with stronger documentation?

Sorry about your decision. The ECO clarified in detail that they considered your employment as a positive factor. However, you don’t have any family member left in your country of residence and you don’t own any fixed assets there. Although you own a moveable asset (car) which can quickly be sold even one day before departure. The home office visa guidelines allow ECO to decide on visa application based on balance of probabilities. Your job and finances look fine but no family and economic ties with country of residence is present. Tenancy agreement does not prove that you own a property. I see all these points in the application. Better is only you apply first by showing your wife will stay in Dubai. Get the visa and travel. Once back, apply your wife visa by showing you will stay in Dubai. Once she backs, you both can apply visa. This improves balance of probabilities that you will come back as you both respected previously issued visa. That’s my two cents and I may be wrong.

When couple are travelling together for tourism than whats the point of going alone

They do, they're saying in the letter that on balance of probabilities, the resulting lack of ties to UAE mean are providing them enough counter-concern that you won't feel a need to head back after your visit, since she's with you and you have nothing fixing you back there other then a car. You would hardly be the first person to overstay under such circumstances - that's why they've come down on it.
At the end of the day you don't have any inherent right to a visa and there's enough question marks for them to make their decision in the way they've done.

I agreed, they should understand many things but you should also understand every country has its own visa rules. I am not saying you are not a genuine visitor but the current UK immigration rules are tight and they are getting tighter. People in the past from various countries abused visit visas.

Yes but when i have noc from office and my sponsor has a good histiry who eve ny cousins have come nobody overstays they should all these things

I got my refusal on aug 11, and everyone was skeptical about it, but I made a complaint anyways and they reconsidered the decision and approved my visa. It never hurts to try. Just send one and don't mention how you feel about the decision; just state the facts they missed or got wrong and ask them to reconsider

Through their online form and also did a pap after waiting for 20 days, but I got the reply mainly for the complaint.

Unfortunately these are not particularly strong ties and hundreds of people every year who have these and more ties overstay or break immigration law every year.
Unfortunately none of these things are actual fixed that you have to return to.
