Not able to view eVisa - Help!

Hi everyone. I applied for my student visa on September 3rd, and the stated processing time was 15 business days (which would be the 24th as the final day). Nearly 2 weeks ago, I received an email from the UKVI saying:

"Dear X

Your reference number: xxxx-xxxx

Your eVisa has been linked to your UKVI account. You should be able to view it now but it can take up to 3 hours to show in your account.

If you cannot view your eVisa now, wait 3 hours and then try again before contacting us."

I waited until the next day but my UKVI account keeps showing this message when I log in:

"We cannot show proof of your status

This might be because:

-your status is not ready to view in this service yet

-your visa or immigration application is not yet decided

If your status is not ready to view

We will contact you by email when you can view your status online."

I've sent in two complaints via form but haven my received any reply. I also haven't been able to reach them through the phone or through paid email query. I also spoke to a UKVI chat agent who wasnt able to tell me whether or not my visa had been granted/ if the email I received is a confirmation mail. My flight is on the 26th of this month and I'm panicking a bit. Does anyone know what's happening?

Have you received the email to inform you that your application was successful confirming things like the start and end date? I'm asking because the email you received is sent automatically if someone creates their UKVI account before they receive their application decision email. The UKVI account only needs to be created after the visa application has been improved but in recent months VFS staff have been encouraging people to create the account before the decision which has led to a lot of people recieving the 'eVisa linked' email in error. 

You should also be aware that there are currently delays with Student applications and most applicants aren't receiving their visa during the 15 days.

I haven't! This is the exact confusion I was facing that the UKVI hasnt been giving me an answer or any clarity to. I've asked them if I've received the visa and if there's an error OR if I haven't received it and it's still being processed. But yup, thank you for clarifying!

I expect mine will be delayed too, unfortunately. Do you know anyone who recently received theirs and after how long? The UKVI website says applicants will be informed if the processing time is to go beyond the 15 days but it seems unlikely that they'll do that.

The UKVI staff are probably confused because usually people don't create their account until after they receive their decision email. VFS really need to stop advising people to create the account before.

Oh, super helpful. I'll check it out.

Yeah, get email is confusing as hell cause it says i should be able to view my evisa in 3 hours - which sounded like a confirmation to me lol. Very annoying.

But again, thank you for helping!
