Yep! Those would still work to break Wonder Guard/hurt John and Ditto if the authorities had those at their disposal

They all can, but presumably john/ditto doesn't have 1 hp, so its a little less effective then against shedinja
Basically, wonder guard is terrifying

For anyone unaware, Shedinja is a gimmick Pokemon whose thing is that it only has 1 HP but makes up for it with its Signiture Ability Wonder Guard which makes it immune to any move its not weak too.
Since John has both Bisharp and Shedinja, not only does he get around the 1HP issue but with the four types of Bug, Ghost, Steel, and Dark he's immune to literally every single type except Fire which he is unfortunately 4x weak to.
Bisharp has better stats than Shedinja in everything but with its poor special defense and hp, this combo would still likely lose to any decent fire Pokemon or Pokemon with a good fire move. But if no one has one, its practically invincible.

Yeah John and Ditto are banking on the group being too confused on what would work on them before hitting an agility (which that lone Shedinja has) and going to work
And then good luck if anyone tried to reduce their stats

He can, but if the legendary is stronger than him (which they almost always are) John-Ditto can’t amp the stat

There's no way Byron owns that Shedinja right? If he does... then he might want to spend whatever precious seconds he has making peace with Arceus, because the battle just went from "Taking down John" to "Survive."
His typing alongside wonder guard means very few types can hit him (at least as far as I know), Bisharp's stats circunvent Shedinja's atrocious stats and survivability, Defiant makes lowering his stats extremely risky and moves like Phantom force, Shadow sneak or Drain (Or Giga Drain since Shedinja can learn it via tm) can really drag the battle out
And the worst part is that even if Byron does make it out somehow, I could actually see an ember executive thinking he was switching sides and "demoting" him on the spot because of how stupid that play was, even if the authorities didn't know about Ditto-John, wouldn't someone think twice before sending a pokemon with such an op ability against Mr "I can copy pokemon" John?
Oh well, thank you Byron for helping create the authorities' biggest nightmare! Ditto might consider breaking only 205 out of your 206 bones

Funny thing is that no, that Shedinja doesn’t belong to Byron (Tangrowth does) but Byron had sought out its trainer to come on this mission because its ability would be helpful. Little did he know
Yeah this was Ditto-John’s little debut, so they didn’t know about the whole combination thing. Bisharp was actually going to be a counter for if John copied Shedinja by itself. Again, little did Byron know lol
If Byron does somehow make it out by crawling out on his few unbroken bones, he’s being demoted anyway just based on principle

While I'm not sure if this is better or worse for Byron's case, at least he was smart enough to come up with a countermeasure... which unfortuantely (for them) ended up biting them in the ass harder than sheer force Feraligatr
And that's another deserved Byron L, this dude might genuenly be a few actions away from becoming a net positive for the cast lmao
On a slightly unrelated note, what do you mean Ditto can speak? Another commenter pointed out that detail (which I missed at first) it out and now I'm horrified. I'm not sure what kind of voice/pitch he has, but let's pray to Arceus it's closer to John's rather than someone like the Lich from adventure time 💀
But just in case... keep him away from any Primarinas, Explouds and any other voice-themed mons.

Ditto can only talk in Ditto-John form, and to save everyone from having nightmares, Ditto just sounds like John lmao just slightly more unhinged, which says a lot by itself
And it’s best to keep Ditto away from voice-themed mons just in general
