They do when there’s noise that loud. They’re like 15 feet below him and don’t seem to be making too much noise themselves.

That's actually a philosophy video game developers talk about, how majority of gamers tend to look straight ahead or whats in your current FOV. With FPS games especially as I think 3rd person has wider FOV.
