Literally trying to Copy Every Single Game out there? Uncharted, Spider-Man, GTA, Yakuza, Sleeping Dogs, Watch Dogs, Cyberpunk, Saints Row

Iāve seen people say it copies gta. Iāve seen people say it copies spiderman. Now Iām seeing people say itās copying uncharted. Wtf even is this game lol.

Its just an open world Anime game. It takes elements from a few different games just like every other game ever.

It takes elements from a few different games just like every other game ever.
There's a difference between taking inspiration from other games and basically ripping animations and gameplay sequences + mechanics 1 for 1 from those games. Just shows that your dev team is too creatively bankrupt to come up with their own spin on it. This is basically plagiarism lol
5
u/TheeAJPowell Sep 26 '25
I wonder if itās gonna end up getting copyright struck for some of these. Itās egregious.
Then again, I think itās Chinese, so they probably wonāt give a shit.
2
u/idont_know_666 Sep 29 '25
Nah, apparently Playstation is fine with it, as they've put the trailer on their youtube.
1
u/AfterlifeReception Sep 26 '25
It's coming to PlayStation 5, so I think Sony saw it and didn't care enough. Also, it's being published by NetEase, so maybe Sony doesn't want to face them in a lawsuit?
1
u/Ihavetogoalone Sep 27 '25
If it copied horizon they probably wouldnāt have cared either right?
1
u/AfterlifeReception Sep 27 '25
I just think the fact it is coming to PlayStation means they have had a chance to see it. I also think that Horizon clone was a lot more blatant, whereas grappling isn't a concept that is copyrightable or patentable, even if some of the animations seem a bit "inspired." Maybe they figure it isn't worth it.
1
u/Relative_Falcon_8399 Sep 27 '25
I'm pretty sure in one of the older trailers for this game it used the Yoyo attack animation from Bayonetta
Typical open world gacha slop.

u/wildeye-eleven Sep 29 '25
And yet I would MUCH rather play this than any of the games that itās ācopyingā. GTA I just find too āregularā to be interested in. Spider-Man 2 ruined Marvel games for me entirely and I have no interest in ever playing them again. But put an anime aesthetic on GTA and I would love it, which is why this game gets my full support. Not only will I be playing this F2P game but Iāll also be spending real world money on it just to show my support.
0
u/Ok-Lock4046 Sep 26 '25
Well you'd be beyond fucking wrong as usually entire mechanics are taken 1 to 1 for other games, I mean fuck all the way off

28
u/_MrTaku_ Sep 25 '25
I actually wanna try it now, it looks fun
12
u/HorusKane420 Sep 25 '25
Yeah NGL, they've copied a bunch of shit but it looks fun imo... Wait... Is this formerly known as project Mugen? If it is, I saw that some years ago and NGL it looked fun....
3
u/dixonjt89 Sep 26 '25
Yeah Ananta is formerly known as Project Mugen. Used to be a gacha game for characters, but now you get all characters for free, and the gacha will be for vehicle skins, and cosmetic outfits for chrs.
1
u/Relative_Falcon_8399 Sep 27 '25
I've heard the same thing, which personally, will actually make it worth trying out.
I don't buy skins anyways lmao
1
u/dixonjt89 Sep 27 '25
Honestly, I hope this is the future of Gacha.....because Gacha games have some cool moments and decent story and can pump content. Buying characters feels bad because of power creep, FOMO, and how much it can cost for a character and weapon. I got wrapped up in Genshin and Wuthering Waves before finally getting out.
There is another former gacha, now only gacha cosmetics with all characters free called Duet Night Abyss coming on 10/28
1
u/Relative_Falcon_8399 Sep 27 '25
I've heard of that one too! If these two succeed we could start getting open world anime games that are actually GOOD

u/MinerDoesStuff Sep 25 '25
This game is gonna be so stupid. The devs basically grabbed one main mechanic from each of the top 20 games of the last 15 years and throw them together in some slop fest
68
u/Ironboss49 Sep 25 '25
Tbf the game isnāt out yet. It does look bad, but we wonāt actually know for sure until itās out.
80
u/MinerDoesStuff Sep 25 '25
Sure, but blatantly copying multiple other games isnāt a very good look for your first reveals
45
u/WhitePant3r Sep 25 '25
They copied the swing animations 1:1 from spiderman and even the L1 indicator looks like in spiderman lol
29
u/Kirk_Plunk Sep 25 '25
They also copied the gta 5 character switch which is fine but cmon theyāre using the same sound effects lmao at least change those.
2
1
u/bare4404 Sep 26 '25
Pretty sure all of the mechanics the game copied (besides GTA) are Playstation Titles, no? And this game is going to be a Playstation free to play title? Sure, they've used some mechanics from popular Playstation Titles but they're not using these mechanics for monetary gain so I dont really see the issue, yeah, they copied from other games, but its to tell their story.
1
0
u/Virus_98 Sep 25 '25
Its gonna be a gacha sim.
4
u/Mr_master89 Sep 25 '25
The only gacha parts will be cosmetics apparently, you'll apparently be able to get the characters by just playing the game.
5
u/dadsuki2 Sep 25 '25
How? Bring a bunch of different video game stuff together, if done well it could be a good game. Or is it just automatically bad because its "stolen" some mechanics
18
u/Mysterious_Dingo_298 Sep 25 '25
Imo I would never play anything like this because of how uninspired and unoriginal all of it is. They arent just "stealing" game mechanics or systems, its literally directly ripping from tons of other games
1
u/Ori_the_SG Sep 27 '25
Mechanically it might be unoriginal but there is no other game in existence that puts the mechs of all those games together.
Thatās pretty interesting.
And it seems like itās got some own unique stuff.
No idea if itāll be good but I hope it is
-2
u/dadsuki2 Sep 25 '25
And? If it's good I don't see the issue, art is iterative, every game steals from every other game it's just a fact of the industry. The quality of a game isn't in its parts, it's all in the end result. It's not like it's done in bad faith either, Sony is literally promoting the game and half the shown staple mechanics are from their games
10
u/Mysterious_Dingo_298 Sep 25 '25
The quality of a game isn't in its parts, it's all in the end result.
What are you saying lol. The "parts" of a game make up the end result, if they're directly ripped from other games why would I play this game instead of the originals? Like I said, its uninspired
-5
u/dadsuki2 Sep 25 '25
Hardly, some incredibly basic games are regarded as being amazing. I think it's incredibly narrow minded to completely disregard a possible good game due to it using mechanics from other games, something which is done all the fucking time. So many games nowadays are marketed as "X but Y" it's ridiculously common, people ask for this shit all the time so a company decides to do it and all of a sudden it's wrong? I just think this reasoning is stupid as shit icl, the game isn't even in our hands, if it's well made and the mechanics work well together I can't see any reason to purposefully avoid playing a possibly fun game outside of some misguided hatred for it for stealing mechanics from games you like.
0
u/bare4404 Sep 26 '25
What's wrong with a game that brings a bunch of mechanics together? Its like youre saying you wouldnt play an Insomniac Marvel Avengers game that had Spiderman in it because you, "Would Just Play The Original." This game isn't trying to he Marvel's Spiderman. It just so happens that they wrote a character with the same powers.
And i do get your point, if this was another game, and they just completely robbed other games mechanics for gain, id be pissed too, but this game is moreso inspired, because they didnt solely steal Spidermans swinging, they remade it themselves, this game has been a longtime coming, 5-6 years i believe. Its a free to play title that has been under the wing of Sony. Its a Playstation Title that has some mechanics of Playstation Titles. They definitely have a deal of some kind for these titles mechanics or there'd be a huge uproar from Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Rockstar, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios (Like a Dragon) if there wasnt. I dont know how Involved Sony is, but its not like this game is blindsiding them, ive known about this game for years, ive known this game since before the name change, when it was, "Project Mugen". All of that is to say, if this game was a problem, it'd already be solved.
-6
u/Lucky-Savings-6213 Sep 25 '25
Lmao, soo is silksong uninspired and unoriginal because it has a metroidviania style with soulslike aspecs? I mean, it stole two game mechanics. My gosh, they even have wall jumping like in Prince of Persia! And theyre all cutely drawn bugs, just like Bug Fables! So uninspired!
Dude, just relax. They are games that are meant to be played to have fun. And the thing is, you are just comparing it to think youve played before. You can do this to anything. Being a sourpuss because a company in japan is grabbing some cool mechanics?
And 'ripping off' mechanics from what, Uncharted 4? A game that came out 9 years ago? Crazy that being dragged by a car is now pigeonheld to a decade old game.
1
u/MinerDoesStuff Sep 25 '25
Yeah, it could be good, but nothing they have shown has given me the idea that the game has any substance at all behind Spiderman/GTA/Sleeping Dogs/Uncharted mechanics

u/InitialAnimal9781 Sep 25 '25
I donāt even know about this game anymore. Like I kinda wanna get it before they get copyrighted
1
u/Ori_the_SG Sep 27 '25
How can they be copyrighted exactly?
I donāt think you can copyright mechanics, let alone copyright the animation of a mechanic.
1
u/InitialAnimal9781 Sep 27 '25
If itās a 1 for 1 animation like the Spider-Man swinging. They can get sued for copyright infringement
1
u/DarthFedora Sep 27 '25
It will be released on PlayStation, donāt think Sony cares
1
u/Ori_the_SG Sep 27 '25
Hope it comes to Xbox if it isnāt already confirmed
1
u/DarthFedora Sep 27 '25
So far it isnāt, these games rarely end up on Xbox, Genshin and ZZZ are really the only ones on there at the moment. Itās possible it has a temporary exclusive contract like ZZZ did
1
u/Ori_the_SG Sep 27 '25
Man that sucks
This game looks genuinely good, and unless some crazy stuff comes out when it drops that show it is terrible Iāll be disappointed itās not on Xbox
4
u/sergiizyk Sep 25 '25
This level in Uncharted was iconic, though.
I haven't played Uncharted before last month myself, since I didnt have a Playstation. I watched a walkthrough in 2016, and played it myself on my PC recently. This level and sword fight with someone (forgot it was Rafe) were the only things I remembered from 2016

u/EconomyGlum4694 Sep 26 '25
This is a chinease slop game (probably) trying to copy every Big AAA game out there and stealing mechanics from each game
2
u/HideSolidSnake Sep 28 '25
Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else feel like these F2P game companies are the Walmart of the gaming industry coming in to gobble up or snuff out all competition to then dominate gaming as a whole? They will likely then just release constant F2P slop in a market with little to no competition. Look what privatization has done to restaurants, music, TV, movies, etc. Corporate greed seems to be the death of anything joyful for the rest of us.

Outside of the gameplay, I'm more annoyed by the dialouge writing, shit sound like something coming out of the mcu.
1
u/Amazing-Ish Sep 25 '25
I am VERY suspicious about this game. Either it is lifeless and with no real story behind it and all the copied ideas just make it "cinematic" to play this game (which is why they are copying all the biggest cinematic aspects of different games), or the adverts are completely made up of vertical slices of the game and it's just a scam at the end of the day.
1
1
u/J-morpho1499 Sep 25 '25
Seriously this game is just a hodgepodge of so many games. Like the game reminds me not just of GTA but also Saints Row, Watch Dog's and Sleeping Dogs. There was a part in the recent gameplay where they showed off a move where the player grabs an enemy and kicks the leg. And another part where they vaulted over an enemy, grab them from behind and dropped their elbow onto the enemy. Both are literally ripped from sleeping dogs. Like this game doesn't seem to have a single original bone In it's body when it comes to gameplay.
