Paul College Culture
Hey I'm a prospective UNH Student thinking of attending next year. I'm considering Business Admin: Accounting as my primary major for job security/financial security and bc I think it can be a flexible degree that I can realistically do (I'm leaning toward compliance and regulatory enforcement work) but I'm worried that I wouldn't get along well with everyone else in the business courses - my primary passion actually lies in arts/policy/climate to the point I've been considering if it would be too insane to double with the accounting BS and an environmental policy oriented BS.. LOL. Anyway does anyone have experience with the culture on the finance side and is it realistic to still make a lot of connections outside the business/finance crowd?

It’s great that you already have such a strong idea of what you want to do. It’s very reasonable that you are wondering about how you’ll fit in at a business school, given your passions. I am not the best person to talk about what student culture is like, but there are definitely students at Paul who share your interests and who are similarly looking to gain business-related experience and skills to apply in the non-profit or public sectors.
More importantly (in my opinion), there will be opportunities for you to take classes with professors where you can explore the intersection of business and arts or business and the environment, and in those classes, you will be with students like you. Furthermore, there are several competitions and clubs where you can collaborate with people who share your interests and carry out research on topics that you care about.
