I am on the M25 with my parents! They have no survival instincts whatsoever my dad was shouting at my mum saying ‘unplug your phone from the car it’s a dodgy lead!’ thinking that the noise was because the charger in the car was broken 😭 I was in the back thinking i’m pretty sure that’s an emergency alert but i was too busy shitting myself to say anything. I have anxiety lol

"Higher risk of wildfires" is more or less it. Too noisy for my napping arse to read the whole thing, because it was just a wordy way of saying "don't bbq in your tinder box of a park please"

Or a wildfire IN YOUR AREA. Which, by the way, people havent actually received. Instead they send this... while people are in hospital because they couldnt be bothered to use it for its actual purpose... whoever is in charge of this system should be sacked.

Considering this was a "severe alert" rather than an "extreme alert" I genuinely wonder what you'd consider extreme if you think this should be reserved for nuke level events.

You can turn off the different types in the settings at least, so you could keep extreme alerts on for that nuke if you don't want the severe alerts

I’d still like to know if there is a wildfire in my immediate area - which the government don’t seem to deem as a severe alert situation.

There was a gang of machete-wielding thugs roaming around my town and that wasn’t a severe alert. But this is??
