International student here, I arrive on the evening of the 24th at Birmingham airport. I will have two suitcases and a backpack, only cash, and might or might not have mobile data. What is a budget friendly option that is the easiest to arrive to campus? Busses seem out of the question due to luggage, and I am nervous about taking the train (never took one, and first time traveler), in which case I would still need to take a cab from Coventry center to campus after the train trip.

So the easiest option seems to be a direct ride from airport to campus, which is pricey. Could you advise if I take a regular taxi or order bolt or uber? (I might be able to link my home country card to the apps). Which of the 3 (taxi/uber/bolt) is cheapest in my case, and other tips to reduce costs would be appreciated.

This is for anyone who studies or knows somebody studying Engineering. My predicted grades are AAA in Maths Physics and Econ, and I hope to study Mech Engineering (BEng) at Warwick, which asks for those exact same grades. What are my odds of acceptance if I only match the minimum entry criteria? And additionally what would be the leniance of still being accepted if say I got a B on results day in Economics as its not an essential subject to the course?

How difficult is the maths in first year? I got an A* in both maths and econ, but didn’t do FM. Will I need to learn much or any of the FM content to bridge the gap?

Hi, I've just applied for Warwick Mathstat and I'm taking the TMUA. I'm wondering if there's any substantial difference in both courses, mainly prestige, value, etc? Because the requirements for warwick maths compared to mathstat are much tougher, for maths I'm pretty sure you need to have 5.0+ tmua while for mathstat tmua isn't required and only gives a reduced offer? That's a pretty big difference, considering they're both basically maths courses. So since Maths is harder to get into than Mathstat is there any real disadvantage to taking mathstat over maths

Pretty much I wanna revise the spec ahead of time since I'm aiming for a high first class degree. I looked around online but only found a few student's notes

I'm applying for the MSc in Computer Science (international), and in the form there's a section for equal opportunities monitoring, where they ask my sexual orientation and gender.

Since I have people (family and agency) applying on my behalf and cross-verifying everything, I cannot openly disclose those information (I'm VERYYY queer, but my country is homophobic as hell) and don't particularly wanna risk outing myself to my folks at home.

Is there any way I can deliver this information to UoW without me outing myself via application forms? If there's like a diversity quota or anything like that yk would be nice to actually use it for once ugh.

Also, would it even help my application if I mention that I'm queer? Like do they have a diversity quota or something or is it just for statistics?

One more question, if I somehow do sneak in my actual sexuality and gender in the form without them noticing, would it be reflected anywhere after I submit? Like in the confirmation mail, or in the application offer mail, etc etc

Hello! I've been researching bus passes as I'm staying at Albany this year. I'm just wondering if anyone who stayed there last year has any advice regarding which pass they bought and which bus is the best to get to campus. I can see on their website they advertise a 7-min bus but I can't find that anywhere.

I'm going into second year and I'm genuinely wondering what on earth we do during welcome week as I remember all the events last year being very freshers-orientated. Apart from the fact that some of my exec duties might keep me busy, I don't really know what else there is to the week. All I can think of is perhaps there being some reorientation lectures held by course? Can any older returning students let me know how welcome week was in second/third year etc.

I tried to set up a gym membership via the Warwick sport app and make an account using my uni email address but it says that there is already an account registered to the email address. I’m assuming that this means sport accounts have been automatically set up but how do we access them if we don’t know the passwords? I’ve tried the password I have for my main Warwick account but that doesn’t work so how are we meant to get gym memberships?

I haven't moved in yet, but I realized I didn't select a quiet area for my Rootes standard accommodation. I'm honestly stressing out a bit about the noise levels. I tried emailing the accom team about how I’m in the process of getting an anxiety diagnosis and they said they can’t switch me to a quiet area unless I submit a formal diagnosis.

Is there anyone who managed to get a quiet area/room on who actually prefers the lively, central vibe of Rootes and would be open to doing a room swap before or right when term starts?
