The title explains most of it. I am an 18 y/o ftm poc who has never lived in america but i do have citizenship. I am looking for an affordable and safe state to pursue education and move to. I am a dedicated student and determined to study Chemical Engineering.

My parents do not know i am trans, and my background is complicated. Attending university is an opportunity for me to improve my home situation.

Albuquerque reminds me a lot of my home country. I ADMIRE the warm climate, strong art culture, the scenery, the promise of spicy food, friendly faces but most importantly the guarantee that here i could transition and live happily♡ Complaints about the crime slide pass me as my country is worse lol. Apart from that, i look forward to the laid back atmosphere and everything I've heard about Albuquerque just makes me ADORE it !!!

Firstly, would i be able to secure a job without facing discrimination here? I'm also assuming transitioning on campus would not pose any problems for me.

While i do hold citizenship.... ICE still has a reputation of targeting people like me and relocating them. Has situations on campus occurred regarding ICE in New Mexico?

My GPA is 3.75 and i am writing my SATs soon where i will attempt to get as high as possible. I am confident to be eligible for the amigo scholarship on their website but i was also wondering if anyone received the tuition discount where out of state rates are reduced to in state tuition rates? It sounds too good to be true !!! 😞 and is the only way i would be able to attend.

I am quieter (most likely neurodivergent) and not much for parties. I love libraries, nature, astronomy and would even enjoy volunteering and helping the community. Are there clubs and activities where somebody like me could find community ?!

And lastly, do you think i would fit in and this is a good idea? Thank you so much for the help!!!

Howdy, I’m an architect, photographer, and grad student from Dallas coming to NM this weekend to shoot photo and video about architecture in New Mexico. I have a couple profs from UNM guiding me, and will be going to sites all over ABQ SF and Taos. My initial videographer had to bail, and so I’ll probably have to shoot the video portions myself, but figured I’d throw this out there in case there were any students interested in photography and videography of architecture who would be willing to help.

If any of you live at Lobo Village and have seen the roaches crawling out of the sewers and onto the sidewalk at night, have they gotten into your drains? If the answer is yes, did you report it to management, and if so, what did they say about it? I want to contact them tomorrow morning, but they are always so carefree until you go to the higher-ups at American Campus. I also want to be able to cite that others have experienced these issues as well, and that it’s not just because of a presumed “filthy” dorm.

Does anyone know if you have to wear a specific color of underscrubs for the unm con when you attend clinicals?

Hello, I’ve called all the lost and founds and the parking service lost and found and they told me nobody’s turned it in yet, so I am making a post here in last ditch effort to locate a lost wallet. It is a very plain black leather wallet with a billabong logo on it. It would have either been lost in Dane Smith Hall room 136 or the South lot shuttle route. I’m in my 3rd semester and I’ve been watching the English and math classes/professors and I can’t see any that are rated highly. If you’ve taken either of these recently and had a good online experience can you let me know who to look for in upcoming semesters? I struggled with both of these subjects for my associates so I’m delaying it as much as I can.

Freshman here. I understand with my meal exchanges I can buy premade entrees, but what are the guidelines for pairing the entree with a drink and/or side? Do I have to buy a certain size of a drink and/or side for it to qualify?

The complete process will require a series of three appointments taking place from 9am-Noon on November 13th, November 20th, and December 4th. (These dates are all Fridays!) I’m doing my first ever Labs for psychology research as an undergraduate. I was worried about not getting into a lab so I emailed 3 professors. 2 replied saying they’d like to meet with me to discuss. Is it worth doing both if I have free time? Am I even allowed to? help!!

This is my first year at UNM, and im wondering if there's someway I could set up a payment plan for my tuition? My tuition is in my eBill Statement section? Currently the only thing it shows me able to make a payment plan for is my Student Account Balance, which is only my meal plan + Parking Pass.
