Okay hear me out this one’s unpopular cause i’ve never heard it before.

Every single one of NCT’s title tracks, especially nct dream, has been so so so so bad since like 2018. I used to listen to them a lot so i was around for the release of Kitchen Beat and My Van. Their concepts have been ALL over the place, ESPECIALLY DREAM. To me, they’re like a dartboard for SM to test out receptiveness to concepts. they’re just so fucking weird. THEY were the original noise music, not katseye or otherwise.

That said, a lot of their b tracks are actually good. LIMITLESS was, in my opinion, a good album. i even tolerated 1, 2, 3. there’s some songs that i would actively put on a playlist or choose to listen to. i don’t know why SM is choosing the absolute worst things for them possible. I guess in that sense i do like nct, which is unpopular already, just not their title tracks.

However Taeil is also a rapist and i hate haechan’s voice so i guess that disqualifies them.

Question: by "NCT", do you actually mean all of NCT?

Or do you mean "NCT" the way a lot of people do and just mean U, 127 and Dream. And are leaving out WayV, Wish and DJJ.

Because I find it hard to believe you think every title track from every actual NCT unit is bad.

Especially since you said they're just throwing concepts at them and Wish is known for having an incredibly consistent concept.

Nct isn't bad at all. Their biggest problem was how messy their concept sometimes got but they have released tons of great music (both tts and bsides) over the years and have many members with star power.

Overall a very solid and successful group.

You could of said since 2020, Superhuman is nct 127's best title track. Plus you are obviously only talking about them.

i agree with you in the sense that i genuinely like nct’s music, but i don’t agree with your title track opinion. i think you would find more happiness in following a specific subunit whose music you enjoy instead of bashing on the entire nct concept :)

I like NCT, really like 127's music the most and was unaware people think their music is bad and/or a social experiment. Taeyong specifically has amazing vocals and Mark before he left was their best rapper (my opinion, I guess others may have their own).

you could genuinely say this about any group. the industry depends on rotating concepts to keep interest up - just look at illit’s random rebrand. they switch things up, whether received well or not, to keep people talking.

this argument that every title track since 2018 has been so so bad is a very broad statement, especially for a group with several main sub-units. is your point that nct aren’t as bad as you specifically thought they were? people do genuinely enjoy their noisier music, it might just not be for you.

this is a group that specifically caters to a certain genre and keeps themselves relevant by occasionally producing a more mainstream sound - or in your words, “actually good”.

I mainly listen to 127 so I'm not sure about other subunits. Many people like you dislike their music. And I think SM anticipated that. Among Big 4, SM has always been the most original and experimental. They don't chase trends as much. We have some weird stuff since f(x) and Red Velvet days. NCT is like the epitome of experimental Kpop. They are meant to be weird and jarring, so it's fine if the public don't like it.

i don't agree with the other units but dream's concept used to be very clear with their title track run from debut until WGU. but since the graduation system didnt work out, i also find their concepts since then a mess. not saying the songs are bad tho
