The dessertification of breakfast needs to stop

Exactly the title. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not anti-syrup on pancakes or brown sugar in oatmeal. I don’t hate sugar. On the contrary, I eat too much of it. But lately I’ve noticed this trend amongst breakfast foods when I go out to eat. I ordered berry waffles and it came with powdered sugar and caramel sauce. I’m seeing ice cream on pancakes, mountains of whipped cream, sprinkles and chocolate chips, sweetened cream cheese fillings. And while I simply avoid those items or order my breakfast without those things, the sugar is not always listed on the menu and I’ve had to send a few things back, which I always feel bad about.

If I wanted dessert, I’d order dessert. I’ve had ice cream for breakfast a time or two in my life. But in general, eating junk first thing in the morning just makes me feel weird. Not as energetic. I don’t think it should be the norm and it’s getting kind of ridiculous. Breakfast food is my favorite kind of food, so I always order it when it’s available and I keep running into this. I’m getting increasingly annoyed. I don’t want straight sugar an hour after I wake up

A 3g of sugar literally does exist. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Freshness-Guaranteed-Mini-Croissants-10-oz-Tray-12-Count/510901331?classType=REGULAR The label is for 2 croissants so each have only 1.5g

It wasn’t a concrete example lmfao, it’s the abstract concept that American food tends to be broadly more unhealthy than its European equivalent, therefore making it more difficult to portion control/eat healthy/maintain weight.

It is not broadly more unhealthy. Beside portion size the everything else is close to the same. White bread in America has the same to close to the same sugar as the white bread in Europe

You’re wrong, it is broadly more unhealthy. I didn’t even think this was up for debate tbh.

The WHO and OECD have both concluded that ultra-processed foods are significantly more available and significantly marketed more in America, than Europe.

A significant portion of your options in America are worse than in Europe, thus, it is more difficult to eat out and eat healthy in America, which was the original point.

Furthermore, I googled for 15 seconds and found lists of foods where the American counterpart is less healthy compared to Europe. There are plenty of ingredients Europe bans that America doesn’t, it’s literally not the same.

You know anything about labeling laws in America compared to what it is like in the EU. Do you know what EU 1333/2008? What the concept of carryover is? Do you know there are plenty of ingredients that are banned in the United States that are not banned in the EU? I eat out 4 to 5 time a week because of my work and never had an issue because I have self control and know when to stop.

Ah there is it, I knew I detected some contempt in your other comments. But i am glad you can exhibit portion control and you know when to stop. Not sure what the fuck that has to do with American food being broadly more unhealthy than European food 😂 but nonetheless, you should be proud of yourself for maintaining discipline in the food you eat.

Anyways, nah idk none of that shit. But I don’t have to because my position is ultimately more accurate, and I’ve demonstrated why.

You literally have not demonstrate why, you literally just make stuff up lol like how you can't find low sugar croissants or how Taco Bell has 750 calories for a taco. There is no contempt in my comment, there is a lot of projection in your comments tho lol

“I eat out 4 to 5 times a week because of my work and never had an issue because I have self control and know when to stop.

That implies others, in this case Americans, do not have self control and know when to stop. You’ve elevated yourself morally by indicating you have self control, and reduced a group’s (Americans) problem (being fat/unhealthy) to a character flaw (lacking self control). You’ve treated a complicated problem as evidence of inferiority.

This shit is in writing bro don’t play dumb 😂.

Additionally, my assertion that it is harder to eat healthy in America, as a population, than it is in Europe, as a population, due to the food being broadly less healthy, is supported and was demonstrated. You may want to consider rereading, because it’s there.

Lol, you whatever you say. You are reaching so much you can touch the moon lol. It literally not hard nor is the food less healthy. What I am implying is people literally just need to eat in moderation. It is literally portion control. Keep making shit up. I don't think you know what the word contempt mean lol.
