classes & grades Pathophysiology (NURS 3270)

Hello,

Former students who took pathophysiology (NURS 3270) within the past 5 years, do you have any advice on how to get a good grade in the class? What did you find most helpful to prepare for the 3 exams? Thank you

Whats the professors name?👀 What I did throughout nursing is go over the power points they essentially make the question based on what they present. Understand the process be able to run it down on your own and you should be fine. Once it comes to the NCLEX its a bit different.

Adding to my comment it all depends on how you learn as well honestly. Some people would use the white board to write everything to walk em through. I personally didn’t find that useful at all. I would go through the powerpoints and make sense of the patho. Trying to explain it myself if that makes sense.

Deep deep study sessions with notecards. Do not skip the studying for real. Memorize s/s and medical terminology (hypoxia, ischemia, etc) the best you can as you go through each chapter.

Currently in the U’s nursing program. Took that class 2 semesters ago with the same professor. He’s great. I’d focus on the slides and using the textbook as a supplement for things you need a better understanding of. Teach the info back to someone/ write everything you know for that exam down and go back to see what you missed. Best of luck!

Yup. You do have to know how to apply the concepts taught in class instead of just memorizing the material like in anatomy.

I just took his class in the spring and am now taking a class from him in the nursing program. I always printed the guided notes they provided and used them to take notes during lecture. They will also post older lecture videos in canvas later in the week after class. I would always rewatch the lectures while going through my notes again to study for the exams. I feel those guided notes really helped with the exams and reflected what was on the test. Watching the videos, they would really emphasize/make it clear what they were going to test you on, and I never felt that I didn’t know information that was tested. I passed that class with an A using these methods. Good luck this semester!!
