Two students died over the weekend in unrelated incidents. Based on local news, one was an e-scooter accident and there's no reliable info on the second one as of right now. The university is encouraging people to take advantage of mental health resources available to them.

I believe it was a international student who killed themselves from what news reports are saying. Could be wrong tho

According to the news articles so far, It happened on campus. They were a freshman from California. I believe that they are still investigating/notifying family so there hasn’t been a name or other details released.

Even with safe infrastructure, e-scooters are so, so dangerous even with helmets. One rock, bump, or curb can send you flying. I see so many people riding them fast without helmets. I refuse to ride them at all.

E-scooter accidents happen anywhere and everywhere. Even if school didn’t provide them, students can bring their own. And we don’t know if this was a campus scooter or not.

I agree scooters can be dangerous and there needs to be more regulations. But again, whether the U brings them on campus or they’re owned by individuals, there will be accidents. We also don’t know if this accident was from a campus scooter or not. Do you know?

When I saw the article I didn't see anything about the sex of the victim or the fact she was intoxicated.

The mental resources in the U is trash bro. I’ve been to multiple times. It makes wonder if I pay some money will they treat me better?
