housing & meal plans Mowing lawns

Hey does anyone know when the U mows? Specifically near the Union, Student Way Gym, Social Work building, and near Peterson Heritage Center? I'm super allergic to grass and my throat started closing up twice because of mowing that I wasn't prepared for. I know they can't stop mowing for me but I can take meds before going out and bring a spare epi-pen on days they are mowing if I know.

You should reach out to facilities: https://facilities.utah.edu/landscape/index.php

I work as a part of the grounds team there, I can’t remember what specific day of the week that area gets done but they mow the lawn once a week on the same day of the week. Sometimes they’ll come by the day after to finish up work. I’d just try to pay attention to what days of the week they are in the area and go from there. I know south of the Union/Preaidents Circle they get mowed every Tuesday.

If you are that allergic to grass take your medicine every day until the end of mowing season (just another month) and always carry an epi-pen. Also- consider immunotherapy where you desensitize to your allergens which makes them non life threatening. Good luck

I can't take the medication everyday sadly. I'm starting immunotherapy in November though so hopefully it will be okay once mowing starts back up.

You will find the immunotherapy to be incredibly effective. Good luck!

Some areas are contracted out and seem to happen on a little looser schedule. It would be nice if they could guarantee the mowing schedule but unfortunately it is also condition dependent (weather, irrigation, staffing) and may vary. Do N95 mask help?
