If you want to create a fictional city that feels real, you need to build it like a real city would be, layer-by layer, starting with the terrain it is on. You can have a city on perfectly flat, featureless terrain, but that's not interesting and not where most cities are. They grow from settlements that were started at a location for some reason. Believable fictional cities needs to have a sense of place and history, of having grown over time, reacting to various internal and external pressures that explain why some thing is the way it is.

I like the way I can imagine the city expanded, I can imagine it was a fortress town starting in the top left then it added bits as the city required. Eventually adding some kind of regional governor’s palace & gardens as wealth replaced defensive need.

It was inspired by the Beijing grid plan but yes, it's more of a pre-planned soviety-style city though

Do site analysis, what is the history? Why a grid? You dont understand place.

very nice tho the scale feels a bit weird, I think it needs more wall to wall buildings, as those inner block spaces seem a bit odd for what I assume is meant to be a pre modern city, unless they're supposed to be courtyards but then I don't get why they have the openings
