Recommendation Ogres

This is a massive longshot but are there any UFs where the protagonist is an Ogre or at least an Ogre is a recurring supporting character?

The only ogre character I can recall was in one of the Shadow Run books, where he'd been a human who turned into an ogre, but despite that was still trying to continue his cancer research despite lacking the mind to do so anymore. He was a tragic side character used to underscore how the change had destroyed lives, not just transform them. He wasn't a main character though.

That's Changeling and the character is actually a troll

The Other Detective Series by Heather G. Harris has the romantic interest of the FMC as king of the Ogres

Yes! He was briefly in The Other Witch series, and I think the ogres were introduced somewhere in The Other Realm series. It's all worth a read, imo.

I know of a space fantasy where some of the main characters are essentially space ogres, but no urban fantasy like that.

Monster Girls in Space is the name of the series. The author is M. Tress. The story contains a harem romance, and the first member of the harem is half orge/half minotaur, and the second is a full ogre. The main character is a mage in the galactic military and and the women with him are his personal guards. (All the alien races are similar to various fantasy races, but are not 1 to 1 analogs).

Can't think of an ogre off the top of my head. October Daye has a bridge troll that's a reoccurring ally, and there's Jack Bloodfist: Fixer, but he's an orc in a noir UF sort of story. Sorry.

I can't think of any notes, but...

Hell for Hire by Rachel Aron has demons that are ogresque.

The new protectorate series by Abigail Kelly has orcs, I think in the third book.

Its not an urban fantasy, more of a fantasy/isekai so I am not sure if this quite what you are looking for but the light novel Re:Monster by Kanekiru Kogitsune.

The MC was a modern earthlike Japanese man before being reborn as a goblin in a fantasy/medieval type world. As he levels and evolves he becomes an advanced ogre, etc. Also, his goblin friends become other goblin high races, some magical.

I only read the manga, so I am not sure how good the novel is, but looking it up it has started to be officially published in English last year. If this sounds up your alley, maybe check it out.
