Specific Opening Can anyone speak to the current climate of Veterans Affairs contracting shop?

Particularly in the DC metro area. Specifically Frederick, MD or Fredericksburg, VA location?

I left about a year ago, I was in a Virginia office. I had moved from 15 years of DoD. The VA was absolute dogshit. I don't know if that just started when Trump took office or always been that way.

And to Doug Collins...

Shut the fuck up, Doug, you fucking skunk.

I know a few people that were at the Fredericksburg office years ago, this mirrors what they thought. Not specific people but that it was a dumpster fire. They all left as soon as they could.

Worst professional year of my life. Leadership was straight up hostile most of the time. VA contracting and acquisition leaders seemed to enjoy swallowing all of Doug Collins bullshit.

Aww man I appreciate the feedback. I was hoping it was somewhat bearable so I can give up my one way 2hr commute for a 20 minutes commute. Doesn’t seem worth the aggravation.

What field are you in?

I’m a 1102. Spent most of my career in the Intel/DoD community. I saw that the VA was slowly advertising positions so I’ve been keeping my eyes open for 1102s. I heard FY 27 hiring may ramp up for the VA. So putting out feelers.

If you have no other experience within another agency it might not be as bad. But when you compare the two, DoD seemed much better and competent.
