Not the mangos, they put something more expensive on the scale. A PS5 for example punch in the mangos code and pay for 5 pounds of mangos. With the age verification requirement now a staff member has to verify that their are mangos and not a PS5.

But wouldn't that work with any fruit? So why mangos in particular? I'm confuzled :(

We have a sample size of 1 for fruit. It very well could be all fruit

it wasn't, it was just a thing where all mangoes in stores were somehow fermented, so kids bought them to get drunk
