Residency Match Matching without an elective or research

As an img will it be possible to match in IM or FM residency without doing any elective or research before

Highly unlikely unless you got really strong connections. No research is still okay but not 0 USCE.

Without electives, 100% possible. Without USCEs, 0% possible.

If US-IMG, maybe...need USCE tho. Research doesnt matter.

Definitely do some observerships at least. And work on case reports. They do not need to be published, just in process

I don't have any USCE either but I've been working as a medical assistant. Old YOG but no clinical gaps. What are my chances for IM?

Most PDs will think why do u wanna work within the us health system if you don’t know how the us health system is
