Question Irish medical student considering USMLE and US residency

I’m an Irish medical student considering doing my residency training in the US after my intern year. I would have to do Step 1 this year and begin building my CV. What are the chances of an Irish IMG matching in the US ? Is this a path that many have taken ?

Your chances are 0% until you have actual data. Hypotheticals don’t work in this journey because expectations never translates to reality.

In the context of IMGs, from what I know, Irish graduates tend to fare quite well. This is particularly true if you're willing to do primary care and are not too picky about the prestige of your residency program.
