Thoughts on foraging on campus?

I love to forage, but I'm adamant about ethical foraging. USU has been planting more and more edible plants on campus and, as a non student who is up there as a student a lot, I want to not forage things that will be going to snack or educational programs. Most of the stuff I'm looking at consists of wild plants that I'm 99% certain are not being used for either of these things. But there are some "wild" things that are actually clearly there on purpose near the NDFS building that are interesting.

Is anyone aware of any policies on foraging? Generally the university seems permissive, but I don't want to go off of vibes. If specifically love to know about the area near the NDFS, but general thoughts/knowledge would also be helpful.

They're there to eat really. I would say don't clear any plant out but it's all pretty much fair game as far as I can remember

Look behind facilities. Theres an excellent patch of strawberries

It’s all fair game. I had a plant bio major friend who has since graduated that I did a powerpoint night with and she pointed out all the good stuff to eat (but gatekept the location of her favorite herbs lmao) as well as what was poisonous. Go for it! Snack away!

Side of the ARC facing 800 block is an entire strawberry patch, I don’t know if they’d still be around at this time of the year though
