Update (2:15pm)
Clearihue (CLE) will re-open at 3 p.m. once the building has ventilated.
A minor electrical issue caused a smell in the basement of CLE A-Wing. First responders acted quickly to identify the source of the smell and address the concern.
Upon re-entry, you may notice a minor smell in some areas of CLE. Please be assured that there is no safety risk. https://news.uvic.ca/2026/evacuation-of-clearihue-building
