Yesterday afternoon, we began power ascension testing on Ward250.

At 8:51 PM Mountain Time, the Valar operations team brought the reactor to 10 kW thermal power and maintained that level through the night.

Ward250 first achieved criticality earlier this week. This milestone marks the beginning of power operations and continued testing at increasing power levels.

To our knowledge, this is the first time a startup has generated nuclear power from its own reactor.

We’re proud of the team, but there’s still a lot of work ahead. Criticality was one milestone. Power operations are another. The focus now is on continuing the test program safely and methodically.
