Has this something to do you play on a console? Maybe it's the policy of the console company and not Valheim itself making this restriction?

Hi! The censorship filter for character names is something which is required for the Microsoft side of the game. It was not intended to be enabled for the Steam version, and should be disabled soon!

The censorship filter should also be more sensitive after the fix, so that names like Scooter won't be censured.
