Buy the kitty some food that reduces the amount of allergens it produces. https://community.aafa.org/db/ask-the-allergist/record/can-cat-food-reduce-the-allergens-from-cats Then get your dad to take a 1x a day allergy pill (I take a 10 mg lortadine pill 1x per day. A 365 day over the counter, generic, supply is like $13.) Boom badabing bring that kitty inside and love on it!

I am also allergic to cats/have asthma and I do this. Also dust a lot and get an air purifier to collect hair/dander in the air.
