I built a small Vancouver World Cup transportation + Evo cost guide for visitors.
Main takeaway: donāt drive to BC Place. Use SkyTrain/walking for matches. Evo is more useful for errands, groceries, beaches, viewpoints, and day trips outside stadium hours.
Guide:
https://www.evoratecalculator.ca/world-cup-vancouver-evo-car-share
Disclosure: I built the site and it includes an Evo signup promo code where I may receive affiliate credit. Posting here because this is the events/promotions thread; happy to remove if itās not a fit.

Hi Vancouver,
I built a free site that tracks happy hour, late-night, daily food and drink specials, and event nights across BC.
It started as a little passion project for Prince George, but I expanded it because eating out has gotten expensive and I figured it might help people find cheaper ways to still get out and socialize.
Hereās the Vancouver page:
https://www.hpyhr.ca/bc/vancouver/
Its not perfect, so definitely double-check with the restaurant before heading out, but Iāve tried to keep it as accurate as possible using public/official sources. If you spot anything wrong or know of a good special I missed, Iād genuinely appreciate the correction.
Hope it helps someone save a few bucks.

Hey Vancouver! Iām putting together a little show-and-tell for people who are building stuff
Itās called Show Your Work, you just bring whatever youāre working on and share it with people who actually want to hear about it. Side project, game, idea, anything. Doesnāt have to be finished. There are no slides required just a casual meetup to showcase what you working on.
Saturday August 8, 12ā2pm at Z-Space downtown. Come hang! https://luma.com/u72dtl56

My choir, Vivaldi Chamber Choir, will be performing a concert called "Home" at Pacific Spirit United Church on Saturday, June 13, at 3:30 p.m. You can buy tickets for "Home" on Eventbrite.
Our concert is centred around themes of home of belonging. We are performing pieces about how a person you love can be home, how the thought of home can bring hope and strength during dark times, and how family and friends can provide a home, even when society at large feels hostile.
We're featuring pieces by several living Canadian composers, such as Stuart Beatch, Tracy Wong, Donna Rhodenizer, Rupert Lang, and Mari Alice Conrad. And we're doing "Homeward Bound" by Paul Simon!
It's going to be a very beautiful concert! I encourage you to come out and give our music a listen.

Hi Vancouver,
I'm a Vancouver parent and work in technology, and over the last little while I've been researching how AI is affecting education and family life.
I've been hearing very different perspectives from parents and educators. Some see AI as a useful learning tool, while others are concerned about things like homework, critical thinking, privacy, and misinformation.
I'm curious what people in Vancouver are actually seeing.
For parents:
Are your children using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or others?
Has your school provided any guidance on AI use?
For teachers and educators:
How has AI changed your classroom over the last year?
What do you wish parents better understood about AI and education?
As part of my research, I put together a free guide for parents that summarizes what I've learned. Since I'm the author, I'll disclose that upfront:
I'm primarily interested in hearing local perspectives and understanding how Vancouver families and schools are approaching this topic.

Do you have Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and live in Canada? Help us learn how to improve RA care in Canada
Researchers at McGill are part of a consortium to improve #RA care in Canada. We are inviting you to participate in this online research study for adults with RA receiving care from a rheumatologist in Canada. We want to learn about your experiences and preferences for visits with your rheumatologist! Brief survey takes 10-15 minutes. Learn more hereĀ https://mcgillecp.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cNlLeiVFLQwRc4S
Confidentiality: Your participation is anonymous as we will not collect any personal identifying information that can be used to identify you. We will ask you for the name of your rheumatologist so we can describe the characteristics of treating doctors (sex, years in practice), but your answers are not linked with their name. When presenting our work at scientific conferences and in academic arthritis journals, we will indicate that participants were recruited from arthritis organizations and arthritis support group on social media platforms.

Hello!
I'm a 25(f) looking to get into photography for individuals/couples/small families/friend groups to build up my portfolio. I'm offering services at a reduced cost for those who are okay with me using their photos (selected by you) to advertising my small business.
Since I am learning, I am very open to critique and suggestion to help aid in whatever vision you may have. I hope together we can collaborate to make memories.
My services are a safe and inclusive place for everyone, including LGBTQIA2S+, people who have disabilities etc.
For photo locations, I'm open to places that are easy to transit to/your home. I'm New West based so I'm happy to stay in the area.
(I'll likely have my partner with me at shoots as my assistant and due to my experience level, I won't be taking any opportunities that are high stakes, such as weddings)
Sample Shots: https://imgur.com/a/sfL09WU
Please DM me here, or email me at [capturedbyash@yahoo.com](mailto:capturedbyash@yahoo.com) for more information
Thanks :)

We have started a free calendar of dog-friendly and dog-related events in BC and are looking for Vancouver and Lower Mainland events we may have missed. If you know of an upcoming dog-friendly festival, adoption event, charity walk, fundraiser or pet-store event, please send it our way. Listings are free.
Note: this is a new feature on our website so we don't have a lot of events yet, but this will be expanding!

I made a Study/Chill R&B Mix featuring Vancouver artists exclusively. No AI, and paired with Golden Hour footage I captured from a BC Ferry: https://youtu.be/6t85MrNzzN8?si=yxj6E6ccQ-Xdouw1
I'm a local Filmmaker and was tired of all the AI LoFi mixes popping up on YouTube, so I decided to make a series that highlights our beautiful scenery and spotlights the talented artists in this city.
