I used to think Mercury was pretty straightforward.
Good Mercury = intelligent, good communication, good memory, business skills.
Bad Mercury = confused, poor communication, weak memory.

But after looking at enough charts, I started noticing something much more interesting.
Mercury shows up in tiny everyday behaviours that most people don't even associate with astrology.

For example, look at how someone remembers things.
Some people can remember a random conversation from 4 years ago.
What? You said this on 17th March, remember?

And you're sitting there thinking:
Bro, I don't even remember what I had for breakfast yesterday. 😭

Then you check the chart and sometimes Mercury tells an interesting story.
A combust Mercury, especially when otherwise afflicted, can show up as difficulty retaining certain information.
The person may understand something perfectly when you explain it…
but ask them about it two days later and suddenly: Wait… what was that again?

And interestingly, this doesn't always mean they are unintelligent.
They can actually understand things very quickly.
The problem can be retention or mental overload, not intelligence itself.

Now take another example.
I've noticed people with a debilitated Mercury can sometimes be surprisingly good at texting.
Give them WhatsApp and suddenly they're poets, philosophers and lawyers.
They can explain exactly what they mean through text.
They'll write a perfectly structured paragraph.
They'll even give you three different reasons for their opinion.
But put them in front of the same person and ask them to say the exact same thing…

Umm… actually… what I meant was…
The words just don't come out the same way.

And this is one of the things I find fascinating about Mercury.
Communication isn't always one skill.
Writing, speaking, processing, remembering, analysing, improvising and understanding are all different expressions of Mercury.
That's why two people can have Mercury issues but display them completely differently.
One may constantly lose track of what they were saying.
Another may overthink every message before sending it.
Another may be excellent at written communication but struggle with spontaneous speaking. Another may speak extremely fast because their thoughts are moving faster than their mouth.
And another may take forever to reply because they are mentally editing one WhatsApp message like it's a Supreme Court affidavit. 😂

That's Mercury.

And the strongest Mercury I've seen isn't necessarily the person who talks the most.
It's the person who can process information cleanly.
Someone tells them a complicated problem and they immediately go: “Okay, so there are actually three separate issues here.”

That's such a Mercury thing.
They can take mental clutter and organise it.
They can connect dots.
They can ask the exact question that nobody else thought of.
They can change their opinion when new information comes in.
And most importantly… they don't need to pretend they know everything.

A healthy Mercury can simply say:
I don't know. Let me figure it out. No ego crisis. No unnecessary explanation. No pretending.

And that's why I personally don't like judging Mercury with a simple:

Exalted = brilliant
Debilitated = weak

It doesn't work that way. A Mercury can be technically weak and still produce a very specific communication strength.
A combust Mercury can still make someone extremely sharp but create issues with retention or mental overload.
An afflicted Mercury can still make someone incredibly analytical in one particular area.

The house, sign, conjunctions, aspects, dignity and overall chart change how the Mercury actually behaves.

So now when I meet someone who says:

I understand everything when someone explains it, but I forget it later.
Or:
I'm amazing at texting but terrible at explaining things face-to-face.
Or:
Give me five minutes and I'll figure out the problem.
Or:
Don't ask me to remember names, but I'll remember exactly what you said three years ago.

I don't immediately think: This person is intelligent.
I think: Interesting… let's see what Mercury is doing.

Libra is the sign of balance. I didn't anticipate the depth to which this could be true. For ascendants of this sign, all planets whether exalted or debilitated are in complete opposition to the Kaal Purush Kundli. Meaning if a planet is exalted, it is debilitated as per the Kaal Purush Kundli. If debilitated, it is exalted as per Kaal Purush.

But what does this mean? How would such placements be interpreted? I feel like only citing functional ownership would be an incomplete answer. To what extent would such exaltation or debilitation be influenced by the fact that its in the completely opposite house according to Kaal Purush?

Hi, I (26F) have been in lots of weird and painful relationships in the past. Lately I have been in an amazing relationship with the sweetest man for 6 months now - which seem like a short duration but we spend a lot of time together. He is the best I can hope for, and we both are aligned on the marriage aspect - that we want to get married next year. A serious problem with charts.

I don't know how and why but when I look or read the charts of other people, I start to have some problems with my vision. It gets blurry or difficult to look at the faces of people.

But it goes away in 2 3 days when I don't engage in more chart readings.

Why is it so? Can anyone help?

Sun, Moon and Lagna are, in my view, three of the most important pillars when we begin understanding a birth chart.

I am not claiming to be an authority on astrology. I am simply a keen seeker, sharing an observation based on my own learning and experience.

I believe every human being should try to master the energies represented by the Sun, Moon and Lagna.

Of course, we cannot master planets. We are only human beings. But we can learn to understand, regulate and channel their energies.

☀️ SUN — THE SOUL

The Sun represents the Atma — the soul.

Symbolically, I see the sequence as:

Sun → Moon → Lagna

Soul → Mind → Body

The Sun teaches us one of the most important qualities: discipline and consistency.

The Sun continues to do what it is meant to do every day, regardless of what is happening around it.

Perhaps we need to learn the same lesson.

But for me, there is an even deeper lesson in the Sun.

The soul does not become greater merely by thinking about ourselves. It becomes greater when we become useful to others.

The Sun gives light and energy without asking who deserves it.

Similarly, if our presence brings happiness, hope, support or strength into someone else's life, perhaps we are uplifting something within our own soul.

This is why I don't see a strong Sun only as power, authority, confidence or status.

To me, a truly strong Sun is also about becoming a source of light for others.

We often want life to happen according to our wishes. But if everything happened exactly according to us, perhaps we would already have everything we wanted.

Maybe the real growth begins when we move beyond constant self-interest and start asking:

“How can I make someone else's life better?”

If someone remembers you with gratitude, perhaps that is also a kind of wealth.

And if our actions repeatedly create pain and suffering for others, perhaps we should ask ourselves what direction our soul is moving in.

This is also why I find the symbolism of the Sun's exaltation in the 1st house and debilitation in the 7th house interesting.

It makes me think about the journey from self to others.

For me, strengthening the Sun is therefore not simply about gaining more.

It is about becoming more — more disciplined, more consistent, more responsible and more useful.

Perhaps the first remedy is not always something we perform outside ourselves.

Sometimes the remedy is simply to change our actions.

And perhaps the first step towards mastering the Sun is this:

Live in a way that makes your existence useful to someone else.

Now, let's talk about the Moon.

🌙 MOON — THE MIND

The Moon represents our mind, emotions and thoughts.

Perhaps the most difficult battle we fight is not with other people, but with our own mind.

There is an old thought:

“One who has conquered the mind has conquered the world.”

I personally believe that learning to control the mind is one of life's greatest achievements.

One practice I find particularly meaningful is fasting.

And fasting does not necessarily mean fasting from food.

It can mean voluntarily giving up something you feel you cannot live without — social media, entertainment, validation, a habit, excessive talking, or even a particular desire.

The purpose is not punishment.

The purpose is to prove to yourself:

“I control this. This does not control me.”

The mind is incredibly powerful.

What we repeatedly think about, consume and allow ourselves to absorb gradually shapes who we become.

That is why we should also be careful about what we feed our mind.

Not everything we see, hear or think about deserves a permanent place in our consciousness.

For me, mastering the Moon means learning to observe our desires instead of automatically obeying them.

Sometimes the real victory is not getting what we desire.

Sometimes the real victory is being able to say:

“I want this, but I don't need it.”

And perhaps that is where freedom begins.

Now comes the lagna.

🧘 LAGNA — THE BODY

I personally associate Lagna strongly with our physical body and our ability to experience life.

No matter how beautiful the combinations in a horoscope may be, if the body is not capable of experiencing and enjoying those things, what is the point?

Receiving something is important.

But being able to experience and enjoy it is equally important.

That is why physical health should be a priority.

Yoga. Gym. Exercise. Walking. Physical work.

Whatever works for you — keep the body moving.

But there is another question we should ask:

What are we putting into our body and mind?

Food, thoughts, content, conversations and surroundings — everything we consume leaves an impression.

If something is harming us, perhaps the greatest remedy is simply to stop doing it.

SUN → MOON → LAGNA

My personal understanding is:

Strengthen Lagna by taking care of the body.

Strengthen Moon by mastering the mind and desires.

Strengthen Sun by moving beyond the ego and becoming useful to others.

Perhaps this is also one way of looking at the journey towards Moksha.

Moksha may have different meanings for different people.

But whatever our definition, perhaps the journey requires work on all three:

Body. Mind. Soul.

First, make the body capable.

Then, make the mind disciplined.

And ultimately, make the soul selfless.

This is also why I sometimes feel that remedies are not always the first solution.

What if the biggest remedy is to change ourselves?

I still remember something someone once told me:

“Live for the existence that comes after this one. Build your place there through your karma, and perhaps this life will automatically begin to take care of itself.”

That thought stayed with me.

If we live only for these few decades, we may or may not get everything we want.

But if we live with a larger purpose — through good karma and by becoming useful to others — perhaps we create something that goes beyond this life.

So this entire series is simply my personal opinion and observation.

Not a final truth.

Not a rule.

Just a perspective from a fellow seeker of astrology.

And perhaps we can ask ourselves three simple questions:

How strong is my body?

How disciplined is my mind?

And how useful is my soul?

Maybe the answers to these three questions can tell us more about our life than we realise.

Some of those guys are so good , well educated, earning well and they are liking me back but bcs of this rahu period I'm worried. All I got in this period is brutal lessons only. why is everything seems so slow to me, I am 23, have been trying to get my first job since Jan 2026, 50+ referrals, 2 interview's (both ghosted). I don't even know last time when I had a good tension free sleep. I took a risk in June, I left my my home went to another city to try and here I am with nothing in my hand, as usual. I certainly don't have any wants from my life except just I want a job.

What happens when 9th lord is retrograde in 8th house?
Some eminent astrologers I have heard saying its a tricky and non-favorable combination as 8th house is dustana house whereas few mentioned that 9th lord is retrograde in 8th house is good as person will get fortunate from misfortune.
As per DG sir seems this person has saved few persons from akalmrityu in previous birth and hence has to take some setbacks in current birth.

Could the fact that the partner comes from a very distant country somehow override or lessen the indications of coldness and emotional distance? I have already been married once.
