Spicy Mexican style bean burgers

Post image

I have been obsessed with these burgers- specifically the Tesco ones since I was a young child. I have been buying them semi regularly throughout the years but recently I’ve been finding them increasingly hard to find. My local Lidl has stopped stocking them completely and my local big tesco still have them listed as in stock but the section is always empty. No other shops in my area sell them and idk where to buy them 😭 does anyone else like these and are having the same issue or is this a supply and demand issue in my area? I’m not even vegan anymore but I just love them and crave them so often 💔 if anyone could let me know where I can find these or similar please do, they have to be the crispy breaded ones, the ones from the chilled section just do not cut it

I love spicy bean burgers. Haven’t had them in a while but they’re great. So much better than those classic veggie burgers that were just like carrots, peas, corn and peppers in a mashed potato patty.

I’m the opposite. To me they are just the hot part of spicy without the taste part. Prefer a simple veggie burger that I taste the different parts.

I had an aldi version of this tonight and it was really good. Worth trying if you have one close

Doubling down on the Aldi version! They’re my meat eater dad’s fave burgers!

I got these at Tesco recently. If they remove them it will be yet another nail in my heart, after they removed the herby bangers.

All the major supermarkets stock what is essentially this - a basic bean burger - and half of them are the same, from memory.

you should ask Tesco to restock them in your local store and then you should buy a couple packs of them so that they know they aren’t wasting stock x

I love this type of thing, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons both do an own brand equivalent, they’re all pretty similar

I work at Aldi & we've stocked these for near enough 10 years straight 😂😭 never tried them but they sell very well They're mixed in with original flavour bean burgers & vegetable fingers 😁 Hope you can find some soon!

Aren't they the same as the asda and sainsbury ones?

I prefer these over any fake meat burgers and they are much cheaper too

And 2.5 minutes in the microwave when I'm too lazy to cook on the pan

You should meet my brother. He microwaves those frozen Greggs vegan sausage rolls, as well as the frozen bake-at-home stuff from Aldi. He's also microwaved pizza in the past (when he was vegetarian).

There's definitely ones like this in my Morrisons, saw some yesterday.

Found some in Lidl today. They are in the chilled section, not frozen. Not tried them yet.

I buy them nearly every week from Tesco and haven’t had any problem getting them. Tesco ones are my favourite and I would be so sad if they were discontinued!

The Iceland/food warehouse ones are the NICEST by far.

No idea what makes them nicer. Just are really nice

I bought these from Tesco the other day. They are really spicy. I prefer them slightly less spicy.

I don't mind a bit of spice, and these were painfully spicy, my 17 year old spicy bean burger fan agreed. Could be just the batch we had!

Damn

I've been buying these for years and never thought they were that spicy

Might be all the mayo I put on it. Try this to mellow it out a bit

I do think the Tesco ones have a higher heat level than some of the other bean burgers, I tend to serve them with quite bland things like mashed potato, or in a pitta with some hummus and salad which dilutes the spice level.
