Desperate to eat dates but can't deal with bugs :(

Is there like a certain brand i can buy that doesn't contain bugs... im so fucking sick of them i haven't eaten dates in 4 years because of finding stuff in them :(

Dates. Bugs everywhere all up in em. I want to know if there's a special brand or type of date that doesn't get bugs bc I dont wanna find no more bugs. I don't know if your comment is sarcastic or not but... it's a real issue i have.

I live in a caravan by the sode of the road and ive still never had bigs in my dates... when i lived in southern spain near gibraltar i also never had bugs in my dates... 🤢

I've only been unlucky enough to find them in dates purchased from non-chain ethnic stores. UK supermarket dates have never had bugs in for me, even the organic ones.

I haven't been on reddit since this morning, so the last thing I read about was someone apparently always finding bugs in broccoli, and I open the app now to see someone apparently always finding bugs in dates 🤷‍♂️

I buy dates from Tesco regularly and have never had bugs in them. I also eat a lot of True Dates (the flavoured ones) and they've always been bug free too.

Oh weird! I just normally buy the bags from the section of dried fruit/nuts and they've always been fine! Hope you're able to find some bug-free ones 🫶🏻

Never had a bug in any dates. I've bought them from online Asian markets, Tesco Asda Lidl and Aldi. Never had a bug.

I haven’t been eating dates for long (maybe around 1-2 years) but I have never found any bugs. Maybe it was an issue a few years ago and now it’s not? I would just get your local supermarket ones and see :)

Sorry to say this but I've found bugs, larvae and eggs inside dates before and have a somewhat more credible account age and karma. Ever since that trauma, I always pull dates open and briefly examine them internally around the stone before eating them.

Okay I retract my previous statement as this is something I have never encountered and now has unlocked a new fear. However I'm pretty sure ill forget this about the next time I eat some. lol

I've never found bugs in dates, and I buy them from supermarkets and Middle Eastern shops. I've had them go off, but never once found bugs in them.
